Picked one up yesterday and I have to say I was blown away. I was not expecting the scale and size of everything when in VR. The inside of the stations are huge.

depending on your pc you can select your detail settings... for me with a gtx 980 and an i7 i just choose VR high (VR ultra pushes my machine far too much)... but if you are in any doubt at all just pick VR low whilst you find your feet - you do not want to be getting used to VR whilst having a less than ideal vr solution

for starters i would stay off planet surfaces once you find your feet. at the very least select comfort mode settings for the srv if you really must try it out.

imo dont start faffing with super sampling etc untill you are happy with your setup and know what you are doing.

Thanks Mike. I play elite straight from the desktop, ( not steam) is it best to go through Steam for VR or does it make no difference.

it makes no difference. i dont run from steam or oculus, i use the frontier one.

late but I want to thank TorTorden and Mad Mike for the glasses info.
I had now the chance to test the Rift. No problem with my glasses and the depth feeling is really great.
Interesting it works even on USB2. Is the latency on USB3 better?

Despite the "feeling" I think I will pass and wait how the technology improves.
I'm not really happy with the quality. I need to invest in a new gpu (gtx970 I have isn't really recommended).
Don't know if i's a FPS thing but I get headecks in my rear left head after some time. Oh and the barrel roll nearly flipped me out of my chair ^^
Also there are nearly no games I'm interested in, Elite from time to time, maybe RoboRecall. The only triple A seams to be Lone Echo.
A real pity :-(
