Rift with no monitor

Slight issue here. My tv broke so I only have the rift.
Nomally I play with the rift as the second monitor with the tv as the main. With only the rift, when I view ED I see side by side images.

My settings are.

Rift service - extended mode
Windows - the rift is my primary monitor
ED - set to primary and configured to oculus / headphones

Any way to get it working without having a second monitor plugged in?

I play the rift as my primary monitor. There is a lot of squinting involved and I set up keyboard shortcuts for a few programs.

It might be working for me because I didn't do any updating when I found it was working for me. Are you on the same oculus version as me?

With a bit of squinting and scrying you should be able to restart the service. I doubt if http://www.vrdesktop.net/ will help with the double image problem, but it might make tracing the problem a little easier. Could you tell me how you get on with it if you do install it? I might consider it myself to make my life a little easier.... but the thing is, my set-up works the way it is just now, and I am loathe to do anything that might upset that state of affairs.

In-game you need to re-set the resolution back to 1920x1080p in the graphics option. That worked for me.
