RIFT works again finally, after great issues last days !!

iam happy again finally with my rift!

problem: last days suddenly my rift only works in "direct mode", in "extended mode" obstinately weird problems.i tried perhaps everthing was possible (all runtimes (0.4.4, 0.5.0.1, 0.6.0.0, 0.6.0.1), various usb-connection-changes,
hdmi-connection-changes, some hours internet investigation)

nothing helped! increasing desperation!

but one thing, i did not think first (for whatever reason), was the

solution: rollback of my nvida-driver!
i go back to version 347.88

version 353.30 and 355.60 dont work!

maybe a driverversion newer than 347.88 is working either, i choose this version
more or less arbitrarily.

but now it worked reliable! (with runtime version 0.6.0.1)

maybe this is useful for some
greetings

EDIT_260815: in the realease notes regarding 0.6.0.1 one can read:
"For NVidia GPUs, please use driver version 350.12. The latest NVidia driver is unstable with the runtime."

ps.:
my system:
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770K CPU @ 3.50GHz
HMD Firmware: 2.12
and now again oculus runtime 0.6.0.1

0.6.0.1 is broken with Elite, I don't know why you're all using it. For me, the game was just straight up crashing to desktop while using it sometimes, and I've heard the same from others. Game just acts like it alt-tabbed and you can't tab back in. Other people report degraded performance with 0.6.0.1 compared to 0.5

There's no reason to use 0.6.0.1 over 0.5 for elite

0.6 works fine for me no issues to report but i am a recent user and have never used it with 0.5 so any degradation issues i wouldnt be able to tell.

because for me its working flawless. i know the "official" FD post regarding problems with 0.6...
but what can I say, for me its ok. I think, or should I say, I imagine, it is even slightly better
than the previous runtimes.
maybe the new feature "queue ahead" is in fact an improvement.

so long

this is untrue as it is working for many (me included)

That's funny, I remember I had chicken for dinner the evening when I installed runtime 0.6.0.1 and ED work pretty fine from this day... Linked?

Rolled back and still on 0.5.0.1. Nevest nvidia driver dropped performance for me, rolled back to the one in my sig too.

Edit: Have a white screen with 0.6.0.1 but using my oculus in extended as primary monitor. When i turn the oculus on, its impossible to log into ed... Have to find another way.

You say about 355.60 not working but they do. For me anyway. The only problem I have is annoying pauses every 30 seconds or so when I'm in foggy ring systems. I may try an earlier driver just to see if this resolves it. For every other part of the game it is very smooth for me. Planetary approach is stuttering as normal...but I don't think that is an Oculus issue as far as I'm aware.
