Ships Right on the power limit build

With good management including setting weapons to 2 and scb to 1 this build "just" works.

To use scb just power one on in menu and hit ya hot key. Weapons will come back online after you disable it again.

And omg do you have strong shields!

great spec, exept maybe the D KWS, if it's not C i become crazy xD

but that's a very good shield, sustain damage/dps from 4xPulse and Burst damage/power core targeting from the big canon

if only the fer de lance could jump a little higher that 13-14Ly...
 
You can lower sensor a bit and up kws.

I gust slap a 4a scoop in when I need to get somewhere about 8 seconds scooping after each jump.

Takes me maybe half as long again as my asp to get 150 ly

I don't bother chasing bounties if they jump as I just pve anyway.

Thanks. I personally feel for the FDL losing about 100 MJ of shield strength is worth it to get A thrusters. FDL does not have vulture maneuverability, but does have a good top speed. Both of these things suggest A thrusters are useful. I run some version of this for bounty hunting, conflict zones, and assassinating NPCs (still thinking about whether I want mil.spec armor or not):

Nice my issue is after losing millions flitting between python t9 and fdl I would only have enough for 1 insurance claim if I got a thrusters unfortunately...

when i turn off these: cargo hatch, FSD, 1 shieldbank, fuel scoop and interdicator

i'm at 108% power, have i forgot something ?
 
I don't power cells, hatch, interdictor, FSD, scoop. With vulture and FDL, I have cells pre-selected, then power -> hot-key -> de-power. Lose 5 seconds of weapons, but them's the breaks. Vulture and FDL are power limited. You can do another build with less overall shield strength but 1 cell active. I personally feel this is not worth it unless in pvp.

I don't like this build style for PvP though.
For that, I want lots of efficient fixed weapons, a balance of boosters and scb with always boosters and 1scb powered(accessible HP, kept topped up), and only a fuelload overweight at the most. I.e. half thruster optimal weight when empty as a maximum AuW.
A thrusters.
I like A sensors too personally, especially if PvP in a CZ or RES. Gotta resolve threats ASAP.
 
Yes absolutely Rabid, you need to build quite a bit differently for pvp. For example I would likely run full pulse with class 3 pulse at the bottom, shield cells, fewer boosters, etc. It's just an entirely different ballgame. FDL is still great though for pvp. Derath had a good pvp build somewhere.
