Horizons Ring Type

I got to a System (Devaku) has 2 planets with rings but there is no description of what type they are. In the overall info there is nothing that says Common or Pristine that type of info and pointing at the planet itself, doesn't give me the info of what type of rings they are
I'm in the Map where it is suppose to show, there is nothing. Am I missing something here ?

scan them with a detailed surface scanner, that should tell you whether they are metallic/metal rich/icy etc.

this should also show whether they are pristine/ major reserves etc., but there is a current bug for this specific info with some bodies:

There is a bug report open since 2.2 & it is still showing up in v2.2.02 where CMDRs are unable to see the System Reserve Type in the System Map.

Assuming you don't have an Advanced Discovery Scanner on board, have you tried scanning the NAV Beacon ?

Keep in mind the NAV Beacon scans (just like UC Map purchases) don't yield any Detail-Data. Such as Ring Composition.

The manual DSS scan is the only way to get that Information, if the System isn't amongst the Default Maps of the Ship Computer.

It's been so long since I haven't carried a DSS, I've forgotten what it is like to be without

Hehe, I still occasionally run into the same issue when I look at a random System inside the bubble.

Always struck me as odd that we need a 250k piece of Equipment and a manual Scan just to get that Information - even in most inhabited Systems with many RES Sites.
