With the Phantom coming it's time to say goodbye to the good old Asp explorer...

The Phantom has:

- The same hull mass
- The same FSD size
- More speed
- More hull
- More shields
- More internals
- More firepower
- More mass lock factor

or long story short: More of everything

They are both medium ships and even the cockpt view is comparable. Consequently the AspX will probably be completely superseded by the Krait Phantom.

Wait till it launches, and find it has a -ve Conda number so the jump range goes down as you make it lighter.

- More Paintjobs
- Also it is cheaper

Yep, already planning to sell my Asp as soon as I get my hands on a Phantom. Big difference in the price though so Asp will still get used by newer players that can't yet afford a Phantom

It's true that it's fuel tank seems to be one size smaller... but it has so much more internal space that this can be easily compensated with an extra fuel tank.

I will stick with my Krait Mk2 and DBX. Had the AspX once and sold it pretty quickly, I hated it.

Jump range is deterministic. If the information on coriolis is accurate, the Phantom can achieve the exact same maximum jump range as the AspX.

If Coriolis is accurate, both top out at around 67ly on a lightweight build. The Phantom may even have a slight advantage.

I think it's better to wait until we can test the new ships in the Beta before making any conclusions. While a lot can be deduced from the base stats, the stats on the shipbuilding websites are currently (well) educated guesses at best.

Won't take long until we can test the ships, just a little patience required
