Just heard that Paul Darrow (Avon from Blake's 7) has passed away at 78. A real shame. This may mean more to Elite players of a certain age, but sad news all the same.

He’s my voice attack voice, only managed to get it to work yesterday. Loved his acting in B7, he’s very funny on HCS voicepack. RIP Avon.

My small experience of B7 was it scaring the hell out of me when i was a nipper allowed to stay up late an watch telly. There were not many channels in them days.
Blake 7 an the Triffids, both scared me quite terribly. Jaws was the daddy though.

Just logged in for the first time in ages to post here and yes this was very upsetting news today. I am a massive Blakes 7 fan and have the complete set on DVD which I watch 3-4 times a year. Kerr Avon was my favourite character, such a loveable rogue. Some people might think Han Solo is a cool rogue (and he is!) but Avon was so much better and his sarcastic comments were just wonderful indeed.
I've long since stopped playing ED but back when I did, I used voice attack and the Paul Darrow voice pack. Quite frankly I'm happy I've stopped playing the game now as listening to that would be upsetting but I would love it if Frontier put some kind of tribute in the game for him (perhaps it's already there?)

It's a sad loss, I loved Blake's 7 when I was a kid, couldn't get enough of it. He was a brilliant actor, the special effects are laughable compared to what we can do today, but the dialogue and scripts were outstanding.
