RIP Sir Clive Sinclair

Just learned news of Sir Clive Sinclair's passing. I was the sole C64 owner in a sea of Spectrum owners at school but I always had respect for the rubber keyed doorstop, with games like Knight Lore, Underwurlde, JetPac, 3D Deathchase etc.. it deserved it. Though my 8 bit Elite playing was done on my C64, I did end up buying a Spectrum (an upgraded 16k model) from a school friend who had moved on, and then later I got a Spectrum+. I have a nice little collection of classics on my shelf, I shall load some up tonight. RIP Sir Clive.

Fond memories of playing Elite and other games with my brother on our Spectrum (thanks to mum & dad for buying what was then our most expensive Christmas present yet). Using BASIC to make mini-animations like Blakes 7 Federation troopers zapping each other. Happy days. The cover of the manual was orange and had floating cities like something out of a SF movie... still waiting for those graphics :) What an inventor, knighthood richly deserved.

3D Deathchase, I was so addicted to that, and even my mother use to play it and she didn't even drive!

Just found out. Feel quite sad. I wouldn't be doing my job if it wasn't for the speccy.

I played that thing so much I had to replace the keyboard pressure sensor mat thing three times.
