Newcomer / Intro RIP Stephen Hawking an ED Tribute
Yes. I really hope FD are planning something.
After all, Leonard Nimoy got a station when he died, too and although he definitely had an impact on how public sees science, he was no physics superhero. Hawking was.

Well, yeah. But I was thinking along the lines of an observation outpost at Sag A* as was suggested, or another system with black hole being named after him. Not just random stations that were named by RNG. 
The world is diminished.
I remember a Horizon documentary (I think it was) about him from just before he got his speech synthesiser, he was giving a lecture with the help of an assistant using a model of the universe as a cylinder when the assistant was showing the model Professor Hawking spoke to him the assistant repeated the remark as he turned the cylinder the other way up saying that the Professor had told him the model was upside down.
I also remember him playing poker in Star Trek: The Next Generation.
I think if not a Black Hole then a scientific station observing one should be specifically named after him.
Time to find and reread A Brief History of Time.

Well, yeah. But I was thinking along the lines of an observation outpost at Sag A* as was suggested, or another system with black hole being named after him. Not just random stations that were named by RNG.
Due to the distance many people will no doubt be deterred from making the journey to Sag A* - I was thinking that maybe a mega-ship science research vessel that moved (like the tanker does) between black-hole systems in the Hawking's Gap region might be a fun and appealing destination (or series of destinations if you will).
We already have a region called Hawking's Gap.
