General / Off-Topic RIP to the original Mac

I discovered this morning that Ian McNaught-Davis the legendary broadcaster who bought computing (and rock-climbing!) to the masses died last week at the age of 84.

I remember him presenting Micro Live and the other programmes in the 80's with Chris Serle and Fred Harris very well.. Thoroughly inspired by his warm and approachable presentation and remember him well... Thank you Mac for bringing us the BBC Micro and all its joys to our attention :)

I enjoyed watching those programs. Never had a BBC at home, my first home machine was a Speccy, but we did have them at school. Without being aware of it at the time, he was one of those people that got me interested in computing.

I had missed this, thank you for posting.

I remember him well, he had a great manner and explained things calmly and thoughtfully. RIP.
