Ripple / cycle fire mode ?

I played a lot of Mechwarrior Online.

One of the great ways to manage overheating in that game is to cycle your weapons, meaning each weapon in the same fire group will fire once, then go to next weapon, fire it once then move to next one.

This creates a cycle / ripple fire effect which allows for longer continued fire without overheating since there is a short pause between each weapon being fired which allows you to cool down just slightly between each shot.

Being able to set a cycle fire mode in this game would be great, especially for larger ship with turreted weapons. With a cycle fire it would allow for longer sustained shooting before overheating.

Anyways, just a thought.

Set 'change fire groups' to one button amd then hold down fire and press change fire groups and you will cycle thrugh your groups firing off as you cycle. Make sure all your groups are primery fire as you will only be pressing that as you cycle

The advantage in this cycle fire is if you want to keep you wep capacitor at the top to help stay cool as instead of firing all your guns at once and overhating due to cap drain you fire them staggered and allow the cap to regen a little between shots. This only realy works with an amazing power distributor and slow fireing guns or fairly cool running wepons to begin with.

The heat produced from firing takes too long to dissipate usualy so its only cap related heat you can mitigate this way.

However it is usefull to create rapid fire wepons buy doubling up on hardpoints.

Massive missile streams can be achived.

One plasma shoots slow but two staggered shoots much faster and tree is like a machine gun.
