RNG: Farming and Grinding

According to a description of the developers of the game Grim Dawn I realized wherever there is the RNG system. Grind and Farming is permitted, legal, approved by developer, all normal.

Piracy has aspect of farming commodities - grinding.
Exploration has aspect of farming (data) - grinding.
Bounty hunting has aspect of farming bounties - grinding.
Trades has aspect of selling - grinding.

So ... if I understand it right, you just told us that ED is a grind game? I mean, I don't like it but ... wasn't that already obvious? :s

I just say: It's allowed. It's normal. This is not exploit.
All games with RNG system have that - and this is normal.

I don't get this logic quite-well. Im in Python, his insurance cost - per death is 4.500.000 credit. There is gamers with Anaconda's, with most expensive insurance's.

I can't pick dangerous mission for farming credit only for insurance.
There is credit for spent on repair, rearming, refueling and upgrading, important thing.

So, i must find less dangerous place for making credit only for insurance, as i say - death can happen more then one time per day. And i found places with low level of risk, with high level of rewarding. What is wrong with this?

Maybe is this goal, to play this game with high level of caution. Alright, all thnx to that.

All mmo games involve repetitive play.

Big software companies spend years creating 30-50 hours of play for a single player game. These games cost £30-£50 and we think that is fair enough.

Meanwhile in mmo games we expect to play for months, not just a few days. There is simply no way a sofware company can create unique play for all that time. All they can hope is to create content that we want to re play. A good tactic is to present the same game play but with a different reward. So Powerplay presents the same missions but you don't get credits. Even though you're doing the same thing it feels different. Another tactic is to give the player a little bonus if they're prepared to start again from scratch. So they're doing the same things but from a stronger point of view.

Hopefully FD will find their own path and not try to copy too closely what other space games have done. Observe the same design tactics but put the Elite template on it.

This is key. It's hard to be original 100%.

This thread is more for those who complain on grinding.

Grinding is just a way for making a more credit in this case.

Mission reward system must be buffed.
Or you will always have grind as a way of play.

This.

For MMO an emergent gameplay is not a solution too. Player will never return after he eat enough of it.
