I though few days about it, i crafted few modules, i got sometimes something good, in most i got nothing special.
Let me show hot it looks now (screen from inara.cz):
In my opinion the main factor (in above case Optimised mass) should have a more narrow threshold, not 30% (45 hi -12 lo), but around 5% (f.e x rom 40 to 45%) and a threshold from hi zone of grade 4 should not impose on grade 5. Now 4 and 5 grade are imposing themselves in most.
Accquiring the main factor is very important for the player. If i want FSD boost then i grind whole days and expect a good FSD boost.
It is like tuning i car, when i am expecting raising a power, then i should get raised power.
So where should be random? I do not like random things, but RNG can make a things uniqie. RNG should work on side effects and cons, like module mass or power draw (in our FSD case).
For example - you will get good FSD engine, but it will be have high fuel consumption, or higher energy usage, but there should be still very good optimal mass factor.
Situation like this , where iam tuning optimal mass, and i am getting optimal mass in large red minus, and power draw in + should not happen in that kind of tuning. Finally i got less optimal mass on grade 5 (two tries), than a players on grade 4 in most.
After four failure crafts (2 class 4 and 2 class 5) i feel sick when i am thinking about gathering polonium and chemical manipulators again and again and again.
In overall i like the engineers, but i need to admit - i hate current form idea of RNG.
My conclusion is: The main factor of modification (optimised mass in that case) is too wide randomized.
