Newcomer / Intro Robigo/ Ceos passenger missions, a few questions

I've come to the conclusion that you no longer need the 30.1ly jump range to do these missions. I've got a strong suspicion that there was a stealth nerf a couple of months back that has throttled the spawn rate of missions. If you do the run in 14 minutes (two jumps each way), there are insufficient missions to fill up your ship, so you have to wait for the mission list to refresh with new ones. Therefore, you will get the same earnings doing three jumps each way, and taking 16 minutes per run, as you would doing it in two jumps.

A similar thing happened with the rescue missions. I was using an Anaconda and able to take significantly more missions than my friend using a Python, but he was able to run continuously, while as I had to keep waiting for the mission board to fill up. At the end of the session, we'd both completed the same number of missions, which was decided by the mission spawn rate, not our speed in completing them.

Today, the spawn rate is the same as it's been for the last 3 weeks, but the value of the missions has gone up. There are a higher number of the 5 million ones, so I was able to achieve 396 million in 4 hours or 99 mil/hr.

where do I get that? is it also at the ruins?
There are three (IIRC) different types of blueprints: module, weapon and fighter, which you will get from different ruins. Check the Canonn ruins site

If you look for video guides, there are different guides for each of the three blueprint types. The fighter blueprint has additionally the difference that you can't pick up a fragment as key to unlock the storage on the site, but instead need to collect the key from a space installation, where each of the space installations is associated with one specific ruin site.

You need at least 30.16 LY jump, that's what is on my Python anyway.

edit woops, misread your post...

My question mainly is, this still viable for Federation rep?
There's two different thing one can accomplish in the area of Robigo, Ceos and Sothis.

Hauling passenger's until it was recently nerfed could make you a lot of cr's fast and in addition, because all your passenger's are tourist, you could also achieve rank towards your Explorer Elite. One generally hauls tourist from Robigo Mines to the Sothis system and scanned the beacon at referred to as Sirius Atmospherics and then back to Robigo mines, one can accomplish between 3 and 5 trips per hour, depending on load out. Most take the money, but there are considerable minerals offered also.

Not including planet based stations because of the additional time to get down and back up. Sothis has 3 or 4 stations which if you only accept work from FED broker's you can achieve rank towards your FEDERAL status, the highest being Admiral. Most often than not, most stop at Rear Admiral, which unlocks the ability to purchase a Corvette. Accepting any missions but Federal mission will slow the process down. Once your allied with all the Federal broker's in all of both systems stations, more data missions will be available.

Probably worth noting that there are TWO outposts at Robigo, there is also Siratonovic's Legacy. When Robigo Mines runs low on missions, you can go there instead. When I was farming it for materials rewards, I typically did two runs from Robigo Mines, then switched to Siraonovic's Legacy, the did two more before switching back.

Hauser's Reach is useful mainly for the shipyard and outfitting, that's where I stash the cabins and other stuff that turns my Python into a passenger ship.

For Fed rep, I took a Cutter and did a loop of all the Large-pad stations in Ceos and Sothis (except the distant planetary base at Sothis), stacking cargo and data deivery missions.

I store my Python at Brunel Hub in Ceos. Being High Tech it has a lot of good modules, material
trader and black market. Comes in handy in case I want to do something else besides Robigo runs.

Question for those who have done this before as there now seems to be a problem for people new to this run - lack of access due to reputation.

I've just flown my ship, kitted out with cabins, over to Hauser's Reach. I scanned some systems on the way and sold the data so I have top rep with the Sirius Corp now.

Checking the Passenger Lounge, I see that I have no problem finding Sirius Corp tourists but that I have no access to ones from CDE Corp or the Robigo Cartel.
The Missions Board has no missions at all for either of those corps but the contacts have a message about handing in bounties for rep.
So I outfit a simple Eagle from the shipyard and go hunting bounties at the Nav Beacon with a kws - but when I hand them in they're only for Sirius Corp.

It looks like it's currently impossible to gain rep for Robigo Cartel & CDE Corp. Both factions only appear in Robigo, neither offers missions to anyone who isn't already friendly with them, and neither has control of a station/settlement thus allowing you to hand in bounties/cartographics. I'm assuming that previously these factions had control of a station or offered missions which allowed people who played before to increase rep and gain access to all the passengers?

Is there something I'm missing? Because if not this would seem to be a bug with the game.

Haven't done the Robigo trek, but what you describe (and what I can see in Inara), that's normal BGS behaviour. Neither faction is in any specific state, so the mission spawns are pure RNGeesus. The BGS tick is still stuttering (or recovering from the last three days' stutter), so it's expected to take at least until today noon UTC/IGT until that has normalized again, and maybe another few hours until the mission boards have caught up with it.

So, the only bug is the missing BGS tick from the last few days. Otherwise, it was never guaranteed (and probably not even intended) to use the Robigo missions for grinding rank.
