Robogo Mines Passenger Missions - something changed in last three weeks?

Hey all,

After the Thargoid Titan narrative reached its conclusion with the destruction of the eighth Titan, I took a bit of a break. I returned, but playing more casual with no real set goals. One thing I did want to do though was top up my somewhat depleted Materials inventory. A relaxing and easy way to do this was via Tourist Passenger Missions from Robigo Mines to Sirius Atmospherics. I already had a "Passenger Python" parked at Hauser's Reach from years ago, but I ended up taking a "Rescue" Type 8, as it had much more up to date Engineering, and a SCO Drive.

Anyway, I last did this about three weeks ago, and had been casually doing passenger runs for an hour or so, every few days, for the prior couple of weeks. The Type 8's Economy and Business Cabins being all I needed to fully load up, with mission offers to spare.

I logged in today, parked at Hauser's Reach where I'd returned to after a little exploration for the CG, swapped to the Type 8 and headed to Robigo Mines. I check the Mission board and most of the Passenger Missions are asking for First or Luxury class Cabins for regular Sirius Atmospherics site seeing trips. I can't even fill my cabins with the missions that want Economy or Business Cabins.

Has something changed? Perhaps some background (system state?) stuff I pay no attention to normally. I've done Passenger runs here many times over the years and, having done so recently and there being no updates since then, didn't expect this. Mission board has refreshed at least once while I'm sat here waiting, but nothing has changed. I'll likely take the limited missions on offer and hope things are better when I return. However, I've not seen this before.

Just wondering what's going on is all.

Edit: After heading back, there are a few more Economy and Business mission offers this time. Still far less than I'd become accustomed too though. I did check the faction state and it's in "Boom", perhaps that results in a proportionally higher demand for First Class and Luxury Cabins. I've become full with many of the Material reward offers now, so I expect I'll be heading off again soon. This is no big deal in the scheme of things, I just haven't ever seen this before...

Edit 2: Third time around, even less Economy / Business Class missions this time. Think I'll take a break.

It's been nerfed, the missions do not respawn as fast as before. However you can still sometimes make 80-100M an hour in a Python if you add 1-2 Luxury Class cabins.

I wasn't really doing it for the money, I was just taking the missions with the best material rewards. Usually - well, three or so weeks ago when I was last doing this - there were LOADS of missions I could take. I could literally fill my cabins two times over with what was on offer, so I just picked the best (material) ones.

You cannot install luxury class cabins in a Python - Dolphin, Orca and Beluga only.

Yeah, they're limited to that class of ship. However, usually it doesn't matter for Robigo Mines as there used to be ample Economy and Business Class passengers. I used to have nothing BUT Economy Cabins and would fill them all up. I only added some business as I'd seen a few pop up. Now, at least 50% of available missions I can take, require Business Class.

I'm sure if we complain enough the restriction will lift.

Absolutely. I expect FDev were on the case the moment they read my post.

Joking aside, since the months of intense Thargoid stuff I'd been doing previously, doing a little passenger tourist stuff was actually really therapeutic and relaxing. It didn't make huge money, but I was after the material reward as mentioned, and it was good for that. To return to Robigo to resume this mellow activity a few weeks later to find it changed isn't really ideal. Still, plenty of other things to do and games to play, so it's all good.

The good old days are gone

ohhh this is a good thing from my POV. my Dolphin and Orca have been gathering dust for years and i could never justify a Beluga as the luxury cabins never seemed that necessary.
maybe i can pull one out of storage, move my python back to be a dedicated rescue ship again and actually use my luxury cruise ships as god intended.

The Python looks enough of a luxury passenger liner that I'm sure an exception could be made for it.
You can't see out.

I've suggested before that a ship kit or even a paint job could add cosmetic viewports and make a good-looking passenger ship of it. I expect that would be good for ARX sales. Are you reading this, FD?

I think the game could benefit from missions or other types of goals that require a luxury passenger cabin, giving motivation to get those ships.
Oddly there were such missions, for parties of four wanting luxury accommodation, when the Dolphin came out.

the python (even more so the mark 2) is already an incredibly amazingly accomplished medium ship. imo FD absolutely should not make it better still. Elite passenger ships are already somewhat unnecessary, they need to encourage us to use those not give even more reasons not to use them by removing the 1 thing they have

Note: The Robigo missions are about to disappear

With the upcoming colonization expansion, as soon as new stations appear near or around Robigo/Sirius then the Robigo missions generated will be as normal as anywhere else in the bubble. It's only their remoteness that causes the interesting mission generation and that remoteness is about to end

Raise a glass to the Robigo Run

Hmm, not sure about that. What makes the Robigo area unusual is that all sightseeing missions go to one place, making them easy to stack. Presumably there would still be only one tourist beacon.
