Robot/Computer intelligence

I know from what I've heard that A.I. has been outlawed. I was wondering if there was any sort of restricted intelligence. How intelligence will the ship computers be, and what form robotics will take in the game.

I've been reading Peter F Hamilton's "Pandora's Star"/"Judas Chained", they had A.I which went nuts causing deaths but as a consequence of A.I, Sentient intelligence S.I. was born which intern created Restricted intelligence to aid human kind and build bridges.

Just curious...

Frontier have pointed out that it's only sentient AI that is outlawed and that "clever software" is still allowed. :)

Sounds like technology wise it's more R.I. designed so it can never expand/evolve into S.I.. As S.I. is already out there somewhere and humanity (from what I can tell) has already had a bad experience with an evolved S.I. I'm looking forward to see how this pans out:)

Who brought Psykokow into this. LOL:)

Getting back on to the subject. I think that whenever mining machine become available, we may have different types to choose from depending on how smart and mobile they are so that they can autonomously find and extract the most highly prized commodities for us.

I would think the more you pay the better equipment you get ...But I was thinking more of the on board computer.....Could we buy one smart enough to just select " Evasive action mode " whilst we compose ourselves and figure out an attack plan.....so the more you pay the smarter on board computer you can buy ?
