Roccat Power Grid & Ipad + ED grids - not working at all?

Hi guys

I've watched a load of the tutorial videos and have Power Grid working for the built in grids, for instance the Windows 7 control grids work absolutely fine (which shows the connection and process between host & client apps/services are ok), but when I play ED and try to use any functions on the custom grids I've added both from people kindly posting on here, and on the Roccat Store nothing happens for any of the buttons.

I presume I've missed a crucial (and probably really obvious) step out in terms of the installed game 'knowing' about these controls that come from the ipad through the Roccat program on the PC but not sure what.
I've basically added the custom grids as per their tutorial video for adding grids to the ipad, and that all went smoothly, but when I try to use them there's no response from any of the controls in the game (i.e. press a control on the ipad, and nothing happens in the game).

If someone could help suggest what probably blindingly obvious step I must have missed out with this, I'd be really grateful, then you can feel free to mock me for my stupidity of course!!!

Thanks!
Jim

Did you change the standart keybinds by any chance ? - im using a grid from the roccat store - and that sends the default binds - Cargo Scoop is a C and so on

Thanks guys - appreciate the quick replies!!

Off hand I can't remember but I'll check (I know that sounds stupid but am only just starting out playing and not familiar yet with all the controls). I'm using a warthog stick/throttle setup, and a set of pedals separately for Yaw, but can't recall if I changed other things. I'll check though thanks, it's probably something to do with that.

I've used it for some time, in another game it used to work fine then one day it just stopped, once it was set to run as admin, ran fine again.

Update (eventually!)

Yes it turned out to just be the control map pings as suggested.

Thanks for the suggestion!!

One thing I'm still unsure of though is whether you can map a control to more than one input? I.e. Have the same function initiated by both a soft button via power grid AND a switch on the warthog?

I think a lot of games tend to allow this but can't really see that in the control settings for Elite.

I suspect I'm being really blind, so feel free to make me look more of an idiot by pointing out that I can indeed do that if you like! :)

Yes you can, there are 2 'columns' to input commands in the settings. For example I have secondary fire on a trigger and mapped to F11 for Roccat.

P.s An idiot wouldn't ask the question, he would just carry on being an idiot!

Thanks mate - very polite too :)

I'll go check. I must have not been pressing the correct key to see the second column or something, and overwritten the existing key for it rather than adding a second.
Thanks!

Well I guess you can't cure stupid because I'm back with this!

I've not played Elite for months and having got back to it, have found the same issue as before. So I have the ED custom grid in use, and it's connected to the PC no problem, but when I try to assign a grid icon to a game control, nothing happens.
So I'm missing something blindingly obvious here of course but bear with me.

1) Start up power grid (PC and ipad)
2) Start ED
3) Go to ED controls, and click a control in order to bind to a certain key, so eg Frameshift is F currently. I should be able to overwrite it by hitting the frameshift drive icon on the grid, or add that in the second column as an alternative control input instead of the keyboard.

But any grid icon I press has no result in trying to bind to a control. Same as if you sit there not pressing any keys etc.

Apart from being thick, what am I doing/not doing that's preventing this working (when it previously did) please?

Appreciate anyone polite enough to humour me! I'm getting old. :D
