Many game publishers purposefully give free game codes to important reviewers
far in advance of launch day, so that reviewers can publish their reviews on launch day. If publishers actually give the
actual entire game to reviewers to play through thoroughly, this is great for consumers.
It means that publishing companies are confident enough of their product that reviewers opinions are mostly of
personal preference and not myriad bugs, performance issues and crashing.
Ofc, there are great reviewers and poor ones. The great ones
will always show you in gory detail why they feel the way they do.
Here in the USA we have the FDA to insure that that the drugs we have access to are not quackery.
I use game reviewers as a tool to make a more informed decision about a purchase.
And so do the investors and financial analysts who specialize in financing the gaming industry, thank goodness.
