ROG Ally or MSI Claw

Anyone have any experience using these to play Elite Dangerous?

Or he'll I'll take any experience anyone may have with either of those systems.

I'm having ROG Ally. Bought especially to play ED in business trips.
For me is good. 40-60 fps at medium profile. 60+ fps in turbo.
Battery capacity enough for 1 hour 8n medium profile. So I'll recommend to have powerbank if you need longer sessions.

For me is quite hard to combat with fixed weapons. So I'm using for missons, exploration ang trade activities.

Asus and MSI have both gotten too big to care about their customers. Steam still cares, so I'd go with a Steam deck if I wanted a handheld.

My MSI motherboard is still going strong. I have a z170a Gaming and GTX 1070 that are also still in perfect working order. They just ballsed up the design of the Claw.
Those are from a time when MSI still had to care. Those days are pretty much gone now.

Everyone thank you for your inputs! I'll look into the Steam Deck as well. By chance do any of these work with Oculus as well?

In additional - I have no idea about how ED work at Intel Arc GPU. Maybe it will be a case...

I guess through external dock only. But Asus and Steam have AMD GPU, which is no good for VR.

I'm also running a B550m motherboard that has also been working perfectly for the last 2+ years I've owned it.

the odds are msi have to have some success stories i am glad you have had no problems...........
my m8ts pc repair shop is littred with old broken msi bits an bobs which i tend to avoid evga also
he has an occasional source of old driveless banking machines which comes in handy
i made my machines from patched together old stuff i have reflowed and repaired etc so almost no cost:D
all i have paid for in years is a new 4090 for my higher end machine....

I think it's a mistake to grab a handheld today, unless you get a heavily discounted model. A new APU product cycle is imminent and will bring dramatically better handhelds with it.
