Well, since the rings around planets all of a sudden started to have albino lighting difficulties, my little project creating roid ring wallpapers has been cancelled :(

So, here's the yield of the ones I thought acceptable to feature on my desktop.

A little unrelated, but I first wanted to have ships in the wallpaper as well, so I started in RESes. While I was procrastinating these guys showed up. Security hunting a wanted ship. I like how you can follow the trail of each ship.

So I guess, no more playing time for Ziggy, and I have to just get on with the job at hand :/

edit: somehow the screens don't show up as 1920x1080, although they are.

Nice shots Ziggy.

I love pictures of, and from inside the rings, but I've been to chicken to go inside the rings on an exploration trip since the incident where I was getting some shots, lost my network connection, then re-spawned inside an asteroid and lost my ship and two weeks worth of data.

That issue has supposedly been addressed now, but I'm still waiting for any reports from other CMDR's before I start dropping into them again and now I guess I'll also have to wait for the graphical fix as well :/

I quite often drop into the rings to take pics or even just go there to be at one OUT there. But your original mishap is always at the back of my mind Andrew. It's like late night swimming after watching Jaws :)

Exactly. I got the first one while sitting in a RES, taking a break, rolling a cigarette and then the star popped out from behind one of the roids.

And I just sat there for minutes taking in the view. No other game has these kind of experiences in it.

And to think I ignored this thread because I thought it was about the bugs inside the rings or something... gorgeous shots Ziggy.

Ive already started to take it for granted that these gorgeous space views are out there, I should really be more appreciative of the scenery.
