Role Playing Two Accounts

I just started playing ED using my second PSN account / CMDR, and I'm using this as an opportunity to really distinguish my two characters into very different roles. This allows me to try all ED has to offer without being stuck with one "I do everything amazing" character, which feels fake to me.

Old Duck is modeled somewhat after the Doctor (hence the avatar), with some obvious exceptions. Old Duck will be the wandering explorer character with an affinity to Sol System; the Doctor does love Earth! I definitely want to visit Earth in the game, so this is the character that will do that. I'm not sure if I can do this and remain independent, anyone know? Old Duck will likely focus on passenger missions, helping people, etc. Eventually Old Duck will head out to parts unexplored, and Old Duck will likely take interest in any aliens making a move on Earth.

Jenny, my second PSN account character, will be more of the fighter / PowerPlay character. She's interested in joining House Duval in the Empire. She'll do what's needed to achieve this goal.

I'm using these two characters to try different gameplay, fly different ships (Jenny has a tricked-out Eagle, which Old Duck skipped over), explore different parts of the bubble, and align with different powers. This feels more natural than one character that owns every ship, is a master at all vocations, and is highly ranked in two opposing superpowers. It also slows down my progression (I can't play both characters at once), which means more overall enjoyment out of the game, I believe.

Anyone else doing something similar?

Hey Duck, is your new account a whole new separate account or a subaccount. Does your subaccount, if that's what you have, have access to horizon? My primary has complet access but my sub who is Nemo has no access to the horizon account.

It's an entirely separate PSN account on my primary PS4, thus I have access to all my games. The 2nd CMDR uses the same Frontier login as the primary. Right now I don't have Horizon content either, but FDev has acknowledged this is a bug and is looking into it. That said, if you buy a paint job under one account, that will not be available on the other account.

If you used your one and only ps4 to add an account with a choosen name and email address to be utilized on the same ps4, you must have said ps4 set as primary. It's referred to as a sub account. Originally designed for one children where as one can set all the parameters or none. Inso much as I the primary and Nemo are one of the same, I gave Nemo full and equal authority.

I understand after researching and reading several post, their looking into the problem. Once fixed, one doesn't have to delete. Until then like we had to do since December is wait.

I am too far into it to just throw it all away by deleting it, boy that was good news.

My PS4 commander is my third . . . Cmdr Jintosh is a trucker-come-liner captain who hangs around independant / fed-aligned core worlds. Cmdr Yshara is a bounty hunter who got fed up with superpower politics after a time spreading the good Alliance word and left for Colonia, where she has become something of a miner. She keeps her fighting skills sharp by ridding the new bubble of the unwelcome :) Cmdr Jaeniez El Sahnea III is just starting out of the long climb up the Imperial rankings, and is willing to do most things to futher the good name of her family, though she has just found out that the family name 'evolved' in the past when her ancestors became good upstanding members of the Empire...

Certainly my progression has slowed as I jump between them, Jintosh on just got her first T9 the week before the PS4 launch, but I've been able to see a lot more of what is going on in the galaxy than I would with just the one account, so I'm very much happy with things.

I will be doing pretty much the same, though I really hate my psn account name oh well, they still give me loads to do. I did some research and my fully upgraded not engineerd t6 is extremely close to being a t9. Only a LOT cheaper. Nemo LXXI will be the trucker, my other god's name in vain will be basically a long haul bus driver. I've seen where one can make 25,000,000 for a trip to Colonia, but ya don't get paid until ya return thus doubling the miles. Which makes hanging around colonia looking for a back haul worthwhile recon. So, both my characters will be transportaion engineers, the only difference is the actual type of freight.

But yeah, making a game out of this makes it more enjoyable.

My T9 can haul 500 tons and steers like a cow, a T6 is Eagle-nimble in comparison (and yes, a huge amount cheaper) :) Still, when doing CGs being able to bump your contribution up 500 tons at a time does make getting into the top 10% a *lot* easier. :)

Five hundred tons? And here I was all proud about being able to haul 80 tons... I'm going to a corner to sulk now.

...but to buy a T9 capable of that cost me 90M Cr, and that was *with* the inital 15% purchase discount. Cmdr Jaeniez will be happy enough to get the T6 when she can, it's a lovely thing to fly.

Yes, although with me is an xbox and now a PS4 account. Still trying to work out if it's two of me or just the one in alternate realities. :S

Figure I can keep mooching around the outskirts of the galaxy on the xbox tracking ELWs, and satisfy the urge to buy, sell, transport stuff here. At some point I'll then switch it around.

When you do, it's tradition to park above it and take a screenshot with the caption "I can see my house from here".
