RCT 3 PC rollercoaster tycoon 3

I am nearly finished on rollercoaster tycoon 3 and wondered if anyone would be able to help me, I want to buy no 1 and 2, i know they wont be as good but i am addicted and want to play the older ones, can you tell me before I buy them if they will play on windows xp. Also can anyone give me a list on the order the games came in and the expansions for each game cos i dont want to miss any of them.

I know RCT2 works on XP and RCT1 will do, but im sure you need to download a patch for it :)

Rct2 is essentially RCT 1 with extra features, and without user made patchs and parks it's a bit limited. I'd just buy rct2 - but leave the add-ons packs.
