Rominger Dock - Alliance reputation

Not sure whether a bug or intended, but I went to turn in 300k worth of bounties at Rominger Dock in the 78 Ursae Majoris system. The system is owned by the Federation, this particular station by the Alliance, however, and otherwise I wouldn't be able to turn in those bounties anyway. Strangely enough, my reputation with the Federation increased instead, the Alliance reputation did not change at all.

Maybe this is as working as designed, but it seems a but strange and also annoying as I explicitly went there to collect the bounties in order to increase my reputation with the Alioth Independents (Allegiance: Alliance) subfaction that owns the station.

Edit: I would like to add, I know that reputation from bounties usually does not show up immediately, but in this case, the Federation reputation did immediately appear (I had no reputation change with anyone before doing this, so there was no blue arrow prior to turning in those bounties), plus it happened to increase my standing to "allied", so the reputation change was really there for them.

Get off our lawn! :D More specifically - we been working hard on this one.

Yeah, gaining the Alioth permit was my intention indeed. The Alliance has been regarded me as a friend for some time now and I hoped to become an Ally with the Alioth Independents this way, it did not work however. Next time I will bring my Cobra and do cargo missions for them instead.

Ah! that's very nice to hear then :) Can you provide your commander name so I don't shoot you accidentally (kinda piratish, yarr!) ?

Or just post it there for everyone to see

No affiliation required, there's players from different communities among us. We just contribute to the same goal and finding means to prosper together.

I've been doing that, the local Federals seem to like me as well as the Alioth Independents and I've even wound up getting Federal Navy mission offers (that might've been when I went to the Federation system to turn in some Federation bounties I'd picked up though). Still seem to have managed to get enough from missions to get an Alioth permit anyway, but some of the missions were taken elsewhere.

Nah, I'll pass. I don't want to align with the Alliance against the other factions, I want to be in good standing with all three major ones, and don't usually engage in political struggles. That's why I fought pirates. :)

Is it even possible? If you support one faction - other will get upset. You can be neutral to everyone but I doubt that you can be liked by all factions.

It is possible. I am allied with the Federation now, friendly with Alliance and Empire. If you only trade in legal goods and fight the real pirates, gangsters and mobsters, why shouldn't they? :)

I just remember cashing out bounties on large scale and my rep was going down with Feds while rising with Alliance. Just for cashing bounties alone.

Maybe this happens if you are already below neutral with one faction, that they will dislike you more for apparently not caring about them but only the others? Just guessing here, however.

Edit: Or maybe the bounties were from kills of wanted, but Federation-aligned ships? As I said, I normally only hunt members of crime syndicates, the mob, pirate gangs etc. :)
