Rookie mistakes

While entering through the letterbox at a station, accidentally pressing the boost button instead of the landing gear button then smashing in to the back of the station and watching my ship explode.

Just had another moment.....

I've upgraded my noob to a Cobra and decided I want more jump range. That's not a problem as I have increased range pinned and have plenty of mats to get me to G3.

Open pinned blueprint and can't figure out why it says I can't do it because I have no grid Grid resistors.

The cogs slowly whirr and then the penny drops

I've pinned Fast Boot Sequence *facepalm

Guess I'll be going to see Felicity sooner than I expected.

I do this all the time...

Flying toward destination and routinely scan every ship that's vaguely in front of me for data.
Get near to destination, still scanning stuff.
Last ship I scan drops out of SC at station, leaving it's low-wake signature targeted on my scanner.
Dum-de-dum....
Hang on!
Why am I 110km from the station and still in SC???!!!
Frantic stab at the "nav waypoint" button, followed by more frantic stabbing at the "exit SC" button.

Went to get some engineering done on my DBX (unshielded stealth build). Approaching the base, got within 7.5ly, requested clearance, relaxed and let the docking computer take me on in as usual. Put my keyboard down, got distracted.

I'd forgotten to zero the throttle. Slammed into a crater wall, down to 6% hull.

Was on a long range luxury passenger mission in my Asp Explorer, way out in the middle of nowhere and exploring along the way while landing on a few of the more interesting looking planets. Never bothered checking gravity. I slammed hard into one planet not knowing why, nearly killing myself and ing off my passenger.

Mine are recent, like yesterday!

1. Running around in my new AspE miner (never done mining before, big thank you to Lance 'Spacecat D's guide) and having a full load of newly mined materials, headed back to the station to bask in my newfound wealth. Trip home was uneventful, dropped out perfectly in line with the station, calmly and politely requested docking clearance, smiled when I received one of the back pads, throttled back to let the DC take over. And sat there! Started thinking that this station is extremely busy, even did a quick check to see if I was in the right mode. Then realised I don't have a DC installed on this ship. Sheepishly engaged throttles and landed manually with only a couple of minutes left on the timer.

2. Heading to one of the Engineers, got into the rhythm of the old jump, honk, scoop, jump. Knew is was nearing the end of my journey, one final system, jumped in, honked, scooped, aligned with the target and sat there thinking that it is taking a long time to SC to the planet. Then realised I still had one jump to go …...

Don't hit the 'zero'-throttle key after arriving in a system -> flew into the sun. Several times.

Tried to attack Cmdr D******.com at a nav beacon. Bad idea. I was in a Viper MK4, he in a FDL ;)

Tried to land my explorer-Anaconda at an engineer (was it wyrd?). I crashed as I've mixed up the keys. I had several beers before [where is it]

2x times I needed the fuel rats as I've ride my ship empty. The last one was 2 or 3 weeks ago in my FDL.

Stacked a load of passenger missions to Sol's True Northern Star, some 1000ly directly up.

Got about 950ly and realised I couldn't get my passenger Python any closer.

I spent a few minutes hopping around trying to get closer. Then gave up and headed home and abandoned the missions.

Then remembered about FSD boost synthesis.

Isn't Polaris locked?

Randomly forgetting to ask landing permission is my speciality , I blame trying to get as many scans as I can on the way to the letterbox.

Pancaking in and around planet stations pads which seems to always happen at engineers sites, I even managed to pancake top down once (I dunno [noob] )

Solved the accidentally boosting in stations by always dropping landing gear when I'm inside and around 2km distance of a station.

Thats some dockin computer.. Auto docking 7.5LY OUT ;}

Great Grandmaster of the Cosby Maneuver.

Cross the great void, pull up to a station, line up with the slot... completely forget to request docking, pull out without getting caught.

Death by kitten. Three times now. She's more dangerous than the worst murder-hobo.

First she attacked a station by jumping on the keyboard. That was to become a pattern..

Once she unplugged my HOTAS USB cables by playing with the pretty dangling wires..while I was in a CZ and couldn't figure out why my controls cut out. Then she thought it was a game, and kept pulling on the wires so I couldn't plug them both in. That was another rebuy.

Third time was death by sun, I had to get up quickly because she brought in a dead bird... For me apparently.

Look what I caught! I'll stick this right next to your desk here. Wait, why is he so upset? It's a dead bird! This is prime stuff!

Decided to buy new ship, found place with a discount. Mere 200 LYs away. As I tend to honk every system while on such trips (for little extra explo data) I took my far jumping Adder and outfitted a scanner. Took off. Jumping and wondering why my trigger isn't working. Is it again when ED forgot my binds? Or stick is faulty? Half way there I check modules... nope, I have module equipped. Honk still isn't working.

Upon close inspection - instead ADS I fitted DSS...
