So 2024 is probably the final year of support. I question: what DLC do you think we will throughout 2024?
Mine would be as followed:
Spring 2024: Latin America Pack
So after Oceania and Eurasia; a Latin America Pack in spring is a very safe bet for me. A tropical pack that lacks representation in game and with scenery left to be added into the game. I know a lot of you want an Animal Pack for South America but from Frontiers point of view I think this is their most ideal pack to bring out in spring.
Scenery would include traditional Central America architecture with Spanish colonial influences.
Animal wise; the first three are a safe bet. A monkey is of course a must; could be replaced by the Golden Lion Tamarin or Spider Monkey, but Howler Monkey is most recognisable I think and could be the headliner animal. Coati could bring another highly requested animal and the Ocelot would balance this pack by giving us a carnivore. The fourth animal could potentially be anything but I choose the Mara to spice things up. Other options are the American Flamingo, Brown Pelican, Brazilian Tapir or Spectacled Bear for instance. Exhibit animal could be anything and I personally do not really care.
Summer 2024: Savannah/Safari Animal Pack
I know there are a lot of African animals already in the game, but I also feel like Africa still has the most potential as well to give us a lot of good animals. So I went with an Arid 2.0 pack; the Savannah Animal Pack. Headliner of this pack could be the African Leopard. Controversial as it is not really common in Zoo's, but I feel like it would appeal more to the wider audience than any other pick. An ungulate/antilope is essential to this pack and I went for the Greater Kudu, which could also be replaced by the Common Eland/Grevy Zebra/Masai Giraffe. Nile Crocodile is another easy to make and essential animal that lacks from game. A Pelican is my biggest wish after the Eurasia pack and with the Mute Swan I feel like our changes of getting are pretty big, so I had to include the Great White Pelican in this pack. The other bird in this pack is the most requested animal by now; the Secretary Bird. I really have some doubts of getting this animal without aviaries since I never saw them outside one but I still picked it for this pack. Last two are again replacable for anything, these two are just my personal wish. Exhibit animal is a wild guess.
Fall 2024: Alpine Animal Pack
So my guess is that Frontier wants to end support with a scenery pack. So that would mean that they would have to switch it up in fall next year.
I really had believe that we would get a Mountains pack this winter and was suprised seeing the Eurasian pack. But after studying the animal picks it was pretty obvious that Frontier witholds some animals in that pack for an Alpine Pack. The first four animals are pretty obvious with the Markhor, Spectacled Bear, Pallas Cat and Gelada. After that it gets more tricky with several options. I have chosen 3 cheap options that ensures more alpine regions in the world get representation in this pack. Alpine Marmot could be replaced by the Rock Hyrax and Mountain Goat by Bighorn Sheep. But I feel like Frontier could frame this pack more of a cold climate pack and hence I choose for these animals.
Aniversery Animal 2024: Serval
I feel like the Serval ticks all the boxes to be the next Aniversery Animal. It is somewhat requested, doesn't require all whole new rig but is also not a clone animal, it's a carnivore (after 1 primate and 2 ungulates is more likely), was left out in the Savannah Pack and doesn't fit in the surrounding DLC's. Perfect free Animal so in my eyes.
Winter 2024: Native America Pack
So the true last remainding scenery theme is that from North American log houses and traditional architecture. The only issue is I can't really come up with a good name for this one. (Canada pack?? Alaskan pack??) American Black Bear is now the final Bear species left out from the game and it would be the headliner of this pack. The Elk is a cheap option to balance out the final two animals that require somewhat a new rig; the Walrus and Sea Otter. Two very iconic animals that would spice this pack a bit up.
This pack would make a very good final pack IMO. We would have 20 DLC's by now which would be a very logical number.
But if I can have one little bonus I would really want a final farewell pack:
The Planet Zoo Animal Pack
20 Animals representing all 20 previous DLC's
1. Arctic Pack: Musk Ox
2. S. A. Pack : Spider Monkey
3. Australia Pack: Short Beaked Echidna
4. Aquatic Pack: Southern Rockhopper Penguin
5. SEA Pack: Blackbuck
6. Africa Pack: Mantled Guereza
7. N.A. Pack: Nene
8. Europe Pack: Iberian Lynx
9. Wetlands Pack: Shoebill
10. Conservation Pack: Golden Lion Tamarin
11. Twilight Pack: Honey Badger
12. Grasslands Pack: Common Eland
13. Tropical Pack: Lowland Anoa
14. Arid Pack: Hamadryas Baboon
15. Oceania Pack: Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo
16. Eurasian Pack: Tanuki
17. Latin America Pack: Southern Tamandua
18. Savannah Pack: Grey Crowned Crane
19. Alpine Pack: Yak
20. Native America Pack: NA Porcupine
