Route finder - would be nice to specify star types

Recently I've come to appreciate the exploration side of ED, am currently on my second trip to the core.

It occurred to me that when using the route finder it would be nice if you could specify the types of star it should prioritise eg excluding brown dwarfs via the star type filter menu.

I thought this might be a good idea as well, I am new to ED and just finished my first exploration trip (only 12k ly but took me two weeks). I may have a different reason than do you, I found myself just about out of fuel a few times and had to cancel my route in order to divert to a star where I could scoop.
The only real downside I see to such a feature is some players will explore all the "good" systems leaving new players ice worlds. Yes that is an exaggeration but I think the point is made.

That's a pretty reasonable concern but needs to be considered against the backdrop of there being 400 billion systems, only a small percentage of which have been explored.

Also, subsequent explorers would still be able to discover the systems, they just wouldn't get the first discovery bonus.

Both good points, first discovery gets a player a bonus but that need not stop a player from looking at all the "good" worlds themselves.

Would certainly help with planning long routes to know there were some scoopable Stars along the way. Perhaps a navcom module should be introduced, which can be upgraded as other modules can be.
