I often quit the game with a route still plotted and over the last few days I've noticed that I can't retrieve the route when opening the galaxy map when I resume playing.

Hmm, just tested twice now and it's working again.

Just lost my route again after getting kicked by a transaction server error. At least this time I'd saved a bookmark.
Are you near the Core? If you are, it could just be that the route-plotter needs more time to re-run the calculations.
I'm in the Core right now, about halfway between the Great Annihilator and Sag A. Plotting a route takes a couple of minutes, re-plotting the route on dropout or logoff takes about as long.

@Sapyx: I'm a bit past the core, EDDiscovery shows me just outside the Far 3kpc arm.
BTW if you're using the filter option with apply to route checked near the core it slows down the plotting a lot. I've been getting plots that take only seconds, but I've been seeing the route completely disappear the last few days. It seems to be tied to getting disconnected, and I'm pretty sure it worked okay on a disconnect before.
I'll file a bug report and see what happens.
