Newcomer / Intro Route Planner Tips and Tricks?

Does anyone have any secrets and tips to share using the in game route planner? I was making my way to Colonia and got frustrated while using Spansh. I play on Xbox and it's just cumbersome using spansh to enter into the route planner constantly. So I tried using the route planner itself and I kind of found an easy way how to use it and make my journey seem quite a bit faster. First, I would scoop a star to full, then I would plot a course to a star equal to my neutron boost + half my jump. It seems like the in game plotter almost always plotted my next jump to a neutron star. Then when I was at the neutron star, I would plot a course to twice my neutron boost jump range + half my normal jump. Then it seemed like the in game plotter would almost always plot the next two jumps using neutron stars. I just kept replotting over and over doing these two tricks. When I was almost out of fuel on a neutron, I would just plot a course to my max neutron boost to a scoopable star, and just kind of rinse wash and repeat. It was a lot faster than manually entering in the course from Spansh. There was even one time I was at a scoopable star, plotting out a course to my max neutron boost + half normal jump and my next jump was actually behind me to a neutron star, which is exactly what I wanted. I wanted the game to find a neutron star so I can manually replot a course twice my max neutron jump + half my jump. Has anyone else tried this and just try replotting over and over playing with distance traveled to reduce jumps? Does anyone else have any tips and tricks to share?

I should probably add that I was in a dense cluster of stars near the center, so there may have been many neutrons there to find. This trick may not work as well where stars are much more sparse. However, I'm going to keep playing with it till I find a procedure that works!

So this method is definitely working, at least closer to the core. I'm making may way to SagA* right now and this method seems to be pretty fast. The stars are dense though so there are likely MANY more neutron stars here. So what I'm doing is a scoop a star to full, plot a course to a destination equal to my max neutron jump + half regular jump. This is pretty much always setting my next jump to a neutron star. Then I get to the neutron star, and then I replot again to twice my max neutron jump + half regular jump. This morning, this has always plotted the next two jumps onto neutron stars. While I let it plot, I supercharge my FSD, after that it's usually done plotting. I check my nav panel and make sure it's three jumps, if it is, I know the next two jumps are neutron stars. I jump until I'm at a fuel star, refuel, rinse wash repeat.

The only way I wish I could make it faster is if I could get the plotter to do three neutrons instead of two. If I try to plot out three, it takes too much time.

Yes this method works fine. I use it a lot when travelling. The in-game plotter leads to a scoopable star at the end of the fuel tank which is nice. Perhaps you do not have 6 or more jumps in your ship?

Added advantage of this way is also that you discover new systems/neutrons. The neutron plotter only uses known systems.

I'm in an Anaconda right now. I could get three neutron jumps with it, but it seems like it almost takes too much time to make it worth it using this method. Three neutron jumps for me is 900 LY, but it takes forever and an age for the plotter to finish that. After I scoop the fuel star, jump to a neutron, then plot twice the neutron jump + half, if I stop at the second neutron jump to find another neutron star by plotting again, it just takes a bit too long. So I kind of just live with two neutrons then fuel star, two neutrons then fuel star, two neutrons then fuel star. It is fast, but I just wish I could figure out how to get three neutrons and a fuel star without stopping to replot again because that replot does take a good amount of time.

How long does your plottin take then? I guess it is between 10 and 20 seconds.. So nothing compared to jumping and charging and scooping :)
In the center things take longer to calculate.

Get a tank or a dbx.. Offcourse the last choice is better!!

For the neutron jump + half regular jump, about 10-20 seconds. When I get to the neutron star and plot a double neutron jump + half regular, that can take about a minute. During the plotting, I just go and supercharge my FSD. If the plotter isn't finished, I'll just FSS for a moment until it's done. This procedure is netting me roughly 675 LY each time. Wish I could somehow easily plot the third neutron star, but it practically crashes my plotter if I try that.
