Route Planning breaks near centre of the galaxy, any suggestions?

To those that managed to get to A*, how did you do it? I am just over 5000LY away for the galactic centre and my route planner won't plot any thing at all. Just gets stuck at ~99%.

I really don't feel like plotting 5000LY manually one jump at a time.

I am a bit frustrated and about to give up (I want to get back to human space before 1.3 hits)

Any hints on how to fix/optimize route planner/map to get it working?

I remember reading that changing to Realistic view helps. Don't recall it helping me though.

I ended up doing 2 jump routes for around 1k lys to the core.

If you let it go it will generally finish. I recall one jump of around 200lys I set before a lunch break ... took about 45mins but it finished lol!!

I had to start taking smaller bites, 300ly then eventually down to 200. Also only displaying A class stars helped with the view.

Plotting in increments of your max jump range does help. i.e if jump range is 30ly's plot in 60/90/120 etc increments. But yeah when you get real close to the core you need to plot in single jumps.

You just need to be patient, and use realistic view. I found the worst it got for me was ten minutes to plot a 1k ly route in the core, but that was as bad as it got. Still, compared to the few seconds it takes out in inhabited space ten minutes does seem like a looooong time ;-)

Yup, very well known problem. Took forever in my case. Until I started picking stars at multiples of my jump range.
My Asp does 33Ly jumps, so picking stars at 165, or 330 Ly really helped. SO MUCH QUICKER :)

Turning of the plot lines seemed to help me - click from Economical to Fastest then click Fastest again to remove the plot lines, I also turned off the filter for everything other than O class and non-main sequence still took about 3 mins or so to plot though
