Route plotting - Waypoints

I know that there are a number of suggestions on how to improve the galaxy map, and all of these are great (looking at you book marking, Filtering and other 'Meta' data on systems). But something I would love to have, and really should not be that hard is the ability to add systems to route.

When exploring (or even just setting up an extended trade route) there has been multiple times when I wish I could have just had one more button next to the "plot" to "add waypoint", which obviously just adds the new system to the end of the existing route. Obviously you could get more complicated with adding before and after other points, but even just being able to add to the end would be great. Make sure there is a confirmation before overwriting a set course though... Hate to spend 15 minutes planning my next 4 hours of systems to map just to miss-click and wipe it all :p

Anyway, thanks to the devs, great job so far and really looking forward to see where you take the universe to!

Agree. I'm very impressed with how FD made the galaxy map. However, there seem to be missing an important feature that is allow the player to bookmark star systems, waypoints and history.

Is there currently a way to set a route to go through certain waypoints? I.e., A to C with B as an intermediate waypoint?

You can set a route between two stars. Click the destination star and choose the icon for "plot route". The nav computer will automatically target the next star system on your route until you target something else and remove the focus.

There is a limit to how far the routes will calculate, I don't recall it but think it is pretty far, at least 100 LY.

I appreciate the response, but that is not what I was asking. What you have described is plotting a direct route from A to B which the map will do for you in the most direct path possible. What I am wanting to do is to route that path through a 3rd system of my choice that would not normally be along that direct path. Sort of the same way you can drag your route line in google maps to go down a different road.
