Routing bug??? (Horizons)

Hi.

I have KGBFOAM and Neutrons filtered in, and all others filtered out. I have "Apply to route" selected.

Yesterday and the day before, I got several non-scoopable stars (mostly brown dwarves) in my route. Not a terrible disaster this time (I'm in the bubble and can do most journeys in 6 jumps or less), but WTH?!

Is anyone else getting this and is there a workaround?

It can happen if there are few scoopable stars in the region and they're significantly off route. For a long journey, the route planner doesn't like to plan short jumps to scoopable stars - it looks for max range jumps.
My Alt CMDR is trying to get to Sag A/Colonia in a standard Sidewinder (2 and a bit full jumps per tank), so I've noticed it quite a bit!

Try adjusting the route - find a scoopable, then replot the route. You need to save the destination!

Or you are targeting a body or a station in a system and the star filter doesn't work in that case.
This is new info... I always where possible plot the entire route, including to the station. I had never noticed the intervening brown dwarves before. So you're saying that the star filter doesn't work at all on the entire route if the last 0.0001% of the route is "in system"?

I'm an experiended Fuel Rat. I don't see non-scoopables in plotted route (with KGBFOAM stars and apply filter. to route selected) frequently (Ido see it occasionally with no obvious reason . Possibly the only choice within route efficiency parameters is an explanation, but I could not say for sure) . Did you have "Map view" selected. on 4th tab of Galmap? Switching to realistic will disable the filter, but the star class filter will still be there when you switch back to Map View.

An important thing to check, is never to start flying unless either your route is solid lines all the way to your destination, or if flying with a scoop and there are dashed lines ahead, that you have a fuel star shown on galmap. The fuel star is the most distant scoopable star on your plotted route that you have fuel to reach. Keep an eye on thr presence and position of the fuel star marker (at least thatmarkher gives you confidence that there is a scoopable star within your reach.

(targeting a system directly will override any plotted route, I believe that us what varonica meant.).
