(RP) Aisling has no idea what she's talking about!

I agree hundred percent with Senator Torval!

What is this nonsense she speaks of? My father was a slave during the harsh times our family was having and our Master was kind to us. We got out of our debt and went on with life in dignity. Was it better for us to be thrown out on the street like those self-centered corporate megalomaniacs do to their people? Their parents would just get rid of them when they turn 18 like they used to do back in 2014! And she says "barbaric"!?!? By abandoning slavery, we are turning to the old ways which we know did not work for us.

And this "debt" that federation so wholeheartedly embraces is just another form of slavery masqueraded in in fancy words. Their so-called democracy that encourages oppression of minorities by the majority's vote is another guise that they use to make their people think that what they think is best. In the end we all know that Federation subtly implanted their own opinions into their heads by subtle corporate media "opinions". We all know that our beloved Empiror knows what's best for us, and we don't have to think!

Voice your support for our Senator Torval!

(OOC) I hope you that guys are noticing that there are some great philosophical thoughts involved in Gal-Net stories that somewhat reflect on our everyday life. Whoever is writing those is doing an awesome job!

I think FD should make an RP sub-forum to keep things organized.

Nosense old chap, you should never be out of character - just this morning at the coffee machine, I adjusting my wig, took a pinch of snuff. All while discussing the company holiday change freeze.

She raised me to Baron while in her pattronage - she'll have my support.

That is what those federation fools do - they blindly follow whoever gives them prestige, ranks and money, and now they can't even enjoy onionheads at dinner like we do (*chuckle*). I respected and supported my Master, but now, we are our own masters and make the future for ourselves. It's up to you to decide - Either we preserve our ways if we are to persevere in during these troublesome times of this so-called power vacuum, or create a darker future for ourselves!

Maybe, but obvious deaths are just as lethal.

Could someone explain to me why Hengist marrying his sweetheart would make Aisling his heir, though? I don't quite understand politics. I just pull triggers and trade slaves.
Aisling is Hengist's illegitimate daughter from an earlier tryst. The Empire's laws on legitimizing b******s (<--- dodging the censor there) work in retrospect, meaning marrying Aislings family with the Duvals will give her a claim as Hengists heir, since his son has had his claim revoked due to insanity. It's all very Game of Thrones-y.

Power struggles. How very second millennium. Give me a sensible form of government, one with the guts to actually stand up to Big Onionhead and their smarmy lobbyists. You can't bribe the super-rich. the difference in our ruling arrangements is our lot work together whereas yours... Tell you what, I will hand deliver seventy tons of the finest Centauri Mega-Gin from Hutton Orbital, wagering that the Imperial succession will not go smoothly. Any of you fine upstanding slave drivers willing to take that bet?

ahh, you misunderstand your imperial politics.
the slave drivers you refer too DON'T want the succession to go smoothly, so wouldn't take your bet as they'd be trying to derail it.
they had already set up their various camps to garner support for their attempts to take the throne.
the little soon to be princess is anti-slavery.
