I'm not saying any of these are true, it is just what I've heard...

  • There is a black hole at the centre of the galaxy.
  • There is more than just a black hole at the centre of the galaxy.
  • There is an Alliance plot to assassinate the Emperor.
  • The planet LV-426 from the Alien movies is real.
  • The orbital station around the planet "Industry" in the Zaonce system [-2,-6] is called "Ridley Scott" in honour of the director of the movie "Alien". I suggest a pilgrimage.
  • You can jump up to 660 light years in one jump using wormholes (if you can find them).
  • Lavian Brandy is a commodity market product to watch.
  • The Thargoid's main base is in the Polaris system.
  • The Federal government have secret files detailing a planned Thargoid invasion.
  • Certain top members of the Federation, Empire and the Alliance have been in contact with the Thargoids for decades. Each has managed to negotiate deals on the supply of advanced technology that has been used to develop top-secret devices. The Federation developed a particularly deadly fighter launch device that incorporates sophisticated control technology that allows complex swarm attacks. The Empire have obtained technology that has allowed them to develop a reflective armour that reflects much of a laser's energy back along the incoming path. The Alliance, or possible a pre-Alliance independent power, received technology for a "cloaking" or "masking" device, which renders whole spaceships invisible, both visually and to other scanning devices.
  • Deep in inter-stellar space there are ancient generation ships known as "Eternity ships". These enormous behemoths make even the largest space station look small. They are entire worlds that were build pre-hyperspace to try to enable slow travel between the stars, with journeys lasting centuries and the intention being that the crew arriving at their eventual destination are the descendents of their ancestors who crewed the departure from Earth. Nobody knows if any of these crews have survived.
  • There is a much bigger alien threat than Thargoids.
  • Hull eating bacteria are common in ring systems around medium sized gas giants.
  • The military have much more capable ship drives than you will ever see on the civilian market, but there are ways to obtain them.
  • The insurance companies are up to no good, beware of them.
  • There is an entire alien galaxy and an obtainable way of travelling there. This travel works both ways.
  • There is a good reason that there was never a Cobra Mk II - think about it...
  • There is something big about to happen in the Old World systems.
  • David Braben can be seen travelling the galaxy in a specially enhanced Cobra Mk III - look out for him!

Watch you backs out there Commanders. Remember - listen to the comms chatter and the news feeds carefully, you'll need to read between the lines to figure out what is really going on. Things aren't always all that they seem.

I can believe there is at black hole at the centre of the milky way since there is one irl and they want the game to be as accurate as possible. David has already confirmed there will not be wormholes in the game so I think we can disregard any rumours concerning them. I would love it if there was a Thargoid invasion in the game that would be worth the cost of the alpha\beta alone imo. Considering the size of the galaxy (400 billion stars) then I would like to think that there are one or two more space capable sentient life forms in that will be included in the game. Having just Thargoids and Humans would become boring rather quickly I think. I wouldn't be at all surprised if we come across David, Michael and the whole Frontier development team in the game. I don't think we'll be seeing them flying ships too often though. Its probably more likely they'll turn up when we're able to get out and walk about and we'll come across them as ambassadors in one of those huge cruise ships that are planned for the game.

  • The star system Zeta-2 Reticuli is indeed on the galactic map - you cannot yet see what is in the system.

Anyway, there's a perfectly good thread that King5ton created listing things that ARE planned to appear in-game... Loads of goodies in there! :D
