I thought I had a great score the other day 140k to ship gold a few light years from Aulin Enterprise to Chu Hub - easy peasy
Drop out of supercruise at Chu Hub - scanning - Whoah what is happening? 248k fine and 18t of now stolen gold in the hold.
I am pretty sure (though not completely certain) that I didn't take an illegal mission, maybe a network problem?
It doesn't matter I've now got 24 hours to find about 200k.
Maybe I could unload the gold but it is now stolen so I jump into Morgor where I am guessing there's a black market and then get paranoid 'will I get scanned by the new station?'.
As I am not sure how the game mechanic works I can't afford to take the risk of my fine increasing so my first attempt at the Isinona manoeuvre ends ignominiously with my cobra as a smear on the station wall.
So after insurance I need to make about 230k in 23 hours to get the Feds off my back - it certainly concentrates the mind on finding a trade route that pays out.
Emergent game play based on a glitch?
Does it matter?
No. It was great fun racing against the clock to earn the cash.
Some might say 230k in 24hrs is a piece of cake but not necessarily in my case given real life commitments and the amount of time actually available.
I did raise the cash with a few hours to spare. My trading and landing techniques have now been honed under pressure.
