Hello everyone.
First post on the forum.
I have bought the Premium Beta 3 days ago and have been thoroughly tested the controls and new features on the single-player version of the game since then. (Kinda disappointed that we Premium Beta customers do not have early access to the Beta multiplayer version of the game).
If you, like me, don't have a power-house desktop PC with last generation graphic card(s)...rest assured the game is very enjoyable (at least in single-player) even on a mid-to-low end laptop.
I own a 2011 HP Pavillion DV6-6157sl, 2nd gen 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7-2670QM, 6GB RAM DDR3 and a not-too-fancy AMD Radeon HD 6490M (1 GB GDDR5 dedicated). Full specs here.
Well, I am pleased to say the game runs smoothly enough for me to blow 8 or 9 waves of enemies on the penultimate scenario.
I am playing the game using a Thrustmaster T-Flight HotasX.
This is a very useful link for everyone who wants to update their GPU drivers on a laptop which uses switchable graphic cards (namely, INTEL HD + AMD). http://leshcatlabs.net/
Unfortunately laptop manufacturers can't be bothered with releasing optomised drivers for every single model they flow the market with.
Thankfully, this Russian guy made an effort for all us videogames players!
After upgrading the drivers and a quick tweak to fix a problem with brightness (everything is well explained on an online manual on that website. It takes 30-40 minutes to set up everything perfectly), I was able to play ED and World of War Planes at around 45-50 fps...almost 20fps more than with official drivers.
It is really worth giving it a try.
hope this post can be helpful to someone.
