RX 580 Crossfire - Flickering

So I decided to try out Crossfire....
Yea, I know... not many games out there support it anymore...

But ED does, and I just happened to have a spare RX 580 sitting in a spare PC that wasn't being used for anything other then video streaming, and web browsing... kind of a waste for such a nice card to just be doing those things.... when I could take it out and run that spare PC just off its onboard video.

So I decided to stick it into my main gaming PC... which already has another RX 580.

Both cards support Crossfire.
AMD Adrenaline software recognizes both, and allows me to enable Global Crossfire settings, as well as enabling it within individual game profiles.

I have a few games that support it and I've booted them up to test, and so far no major issues...

Until I booted up ED.

First, my Holome image on the main menu screen looks.... weird, like there some weird shader issue, with just that one little image.
Second, as soon as I loaded into the game itself...

Everything looks fine, except the planet terrain outside my cockpit window (the planet Im currently landed on) is doing some weird, flickering thing.

So I'm wondering if any AMD users out there have seen similar issues, and is there a fix?

can you show me an official statement that crossfire is supported I am not saying it isnt but I has reservations about it being officially supported
as I believe nividia sli bridged cards are not supported either...…………
so expect artifacts would be my guess for some possible performance gain @Morbad may know

Well.. I dont know of any "official list" from AMD...

In fact the ONLY list I've found is when goggling "AMD Crossfire Game Support" and I get the following as the first hit from Google...

However, I don't think its entirely accurate, as I have two other games from that list that don't seem to support it....

BUT.

ED is also on that list, and it does apparently support it...

Cause in the AMD Adrenaline software, you have the option of enabling the AMD CrossfireX Logo in games when they support it and use it...
ED is doing that for me.
The CrossfireX Logo is overlayed in the top right corner when running the game, and both my GPU's are being utilized and all their fans spooling up.

It doesnt do any of that with games that dont use Crossfire.

well hopefully someone may come along and put you on the right track (morbad may know some tricks when ever he's back on)
yep says the basegame works……(which is now legacy) horizons or the odyssey however is not mentioned...………….
hope you can get something figured as you say put it to use where possible o7

The game definitely does not officially support Crossfire, but it should work to some degree. Expect issues.

You can try setting "AFR Compatible" for the Crossfire mode.

Yea, I'm running Odyssey...

I believe I already have it set for "AFR Compatible", though been trying some of the other Crossfire settings and thats just making the graphics go total bonkers.. and every time I launch the game my mouse starts siezing up and acting wierd.

Ok it was originally set to "AFR Friendly" .. theres also Optimized 1x1 and AFR Compatible... both of those result in all the graphics just going total bonkers, like... ED meets the world of Tron in the middle of the apocalypse...

I set the Crossfire mode back to Default or "AFR Friendly" and the graphics go back to acting normal, except for that wierd flickering of planet terrain outside my cockpit window... and my Holome appearing like I'm someone shrouded in shadows, with different color hair.

Also, the ingame Graphics settings, I had it set for AMD FSR 2... but if I change to to AMD FidelityFX... the glitchy mouse issues seem to go away.

, except for that wierd flickering of planet terrain outside my cockpit window
me being an original elite 84er I would just imagine I am bathed in the light from a pulsar ;)
(I did think gpu artifacts would arise) some MUBAR mucked up beyond all recognition screenshots welcome as a guide as to what you should'nt mucking fuddle with lol

It seems to be just the rocks, that are flickering...

The rocks, and various nebulae visible in the sky, and what I presume is the Andromeda Galaxy...

Nothing else is flickering.

Been playing around with the various graphics settings, both in-game and within AMD Adrenaline, and neither seem to resolve it...

It only goes away, when I disable Crossfire for the Game... go figure.... in fact with Crossfire disabled, I discovered that I'm actually sitting on the DAY side of the planet that I'm on...

I thought I was on the night side, cause with Crossfire enabled, its near pitch black outside my cockpit, except the flickering objects... and stars visible in the sky..and I need to enable my ships night vision to see the terrain outside.
