The S.H.E.P.A.R.D. MISSION: Stellar Heliographic Expedition for Proto Astronomical Reconnaissance and Discovery
In celebration of the successful conclusion of the now historical SHEPARD Mission for Interstellar discovery, expedition leader Cmdr Parabolus is pleased to announce the closing ceremonial event schedule. In honour of Alan Shepard, for which this mission has been named, we are landing exactly 6-months after departure, on May 5th, 3303, on the exact anniversary of his daring sub-orbital flight in 1961.
***SHEPARD Photography Competition - Deadline: May 5th***
The SHEPARD Mission will feature a 2-phase anonymous photography competition open to all shepard cmdrs. Each cmdr is allowed to submit up to two (2) photographs from the SHEPARD Mission. An internal voting will determine the top 5 finalists, which will then be voted upon by the larger Elite community on the forums. The winning photographer will receive a special custom SHEPARD Patch with title as SHEPARD Photographer I.
To submit - Send me (Cmdr Parabolus) a Private Message on Discord with your two photographs no later than May 5th. These must have been taken on the Shepard Mission. Please title your photograph with system name - do not include your cmdr name. I will then create a shared folder with all submissions for everyone to vote via google forms.
***Mission Patches - Order by May 15th***
Mission patches for expedition pilots who completed the mission are available for purchase. Each patch is $7 (including shipping) or two patches for $12 (including shipping). To purchase a patch, send the requisite amount through PayPal by using this link: https://www.paypal.me/cmdrparabolus You will be presented with two options. The first is “friends and family”. This is the preferred option as there are no fees with this option. Once you have paid the purchase prices, please send an email to cmdrparabolus@gmail.com with your name, the details of your purchase and your shipping information. I will get them out to you as soon as they are printed 2-3 weeks.
Don’t miss on this opportunity! We will not do a second run like DWE and SC!
***Galactic Mapping Project - SHEPARD Contribution - Deadline May 15th***
I have been in contact with Corbin Moran from the Galactic Mapping Project. He has requested that we submit all SHEPARD Cmdr entries for POI to them as a whole. It is very important that we contribute as much as we can toward this effort - as EDSM and the Mapping Project was pivotal in the planning and execution of our mission. Moreover, the Shepard Mission discovered a lot of amazing things out in deep space, and should share this with them. As such, I will be coordinating this collective effort. Please send me through discord any of your submissions using the following format - include 1 photo:
