Sadness

I am an old player of Elite 1984. When I discovered the existence of ED I immediately bought it even though my PC was not powerful enough to play it decently. After some time I bought it on the Playstation store and have been playing with it ever since. I was able to accept the first blow that postponed the release of the game on console, but now I am sadly disappointed, and I also feel a bit betrayed by this bad news. For a long time I have confidently waited to be able to land and walk off my ship for new experiences, but now I know I can never do it without buying a new PC.

I also started playing Elite in 1984. Elite Dangerous I played on Mac. After they cancelled the Mac I switched to Playstation. I would like to continue playing Elite Dangerous on Playstation. I don't need Odyssey as Ego-Shooter but I would like to walk around my ship, in stations and on planets. I will not buy a PC for Elite Dangerous

I too Kickstartered on the Mac, then bought a PS4 when they abandoned the Mac. Now they have abandoned the PS4.

Not that it makes any difference to Frontier, but I will never buy one of their products again

A company that does not live up to its commitments to its customers does not deserve their customers' attention or money.

I so very nearly went the Playstation route after macOS got cut. You have my sympathy, twice!

@Samurai78 Right on fellow old-skooler! 🧓 I only have a crappy old laptop to use and so I play EDO on it using a beefy cloud pc upgrade, rather than buying a whole new pc and gpu outright that I cannot afford. Main caveat being decent internet at home and a datacentre in the country next door. I'm sure FDEV will offer a better account transfer solution to former console cmdrs given time, so perhaps consider such when that time arrives? ⛅

Hi DJ007, how do you play EDO?
I've got a crappy old Lenovo laptop and can't run it (I do have superfast Internet - downloads 57Mb/sec)
(PS4 player)

It is still a great game and to me the best blend of Elite 1984 and Elite Frontier. If you want the new fancy pants legs, yup you will need the PC. The galaxy is still there on PS4 and is big. To me Elite was always about the ships. Your ship on PS4 is still very much flyable.
