Newcomer / Intro Safe to Save and Quit?

Hi Everyone,

I've calmed down and gotten used to the game, and it has a steep learning curve but once you learn it it gets a lot better.

I have one remaining question: is it safe to save and quit while docked in a station? Last time I did this they were hostile when I logged back in and they blew me up and I had to pay for a new ship :(

If they are hostile to you or your wanted in that system. Go away from the station to save. Like a system where you not hostile or wanted.

Is there a time limit for how long you can stay docked in a station or something? I am not hostile or wanted when I log out, but they're all hostile to me when I log in later.

If you have a fine (you can have a fine without being wanted) when you log out, and if you don't log back in to clear the fine before it escalates to a bounty, then you will have trouble. If that isn't what's happening then I don't know what's going on.

IF (potentially big if) you are in a station belonging to a faction which has bountied you, you should be able to go to Station Services | Contacts | Pilot Federation prior to departure and pay off your bounties so you aren't summarily annihilated by the station on your way out. Assuming you have the cash, of course.

As others have said, it can happen. Be aware of accepting any jobs on the BB and then logging out. Failure to complete jobs on time can result in getting a fine from the Faction that gave the job. If you get a fine, you have 24 hours to pay it off, before it turns into a Bounty. If it turns into a Bounty while you are offline, next time you log in... well I'm sure you can see what may happen.. ;)
