"Safeguard this cargo" missions

Is anyone able to actually complete these on a regular basis? It seems like 9 times out of 10, my contact never shows up after the allotted time, and I just end up with a bunch of cargo and a mission I have to abandon, no matter how much longer I stick around.

Is there something I'm missing?

I've completed a couple of them. Your contact usually finds you in supercruise and you have to follow their wake. Various things can go wrong, like them not showing up, or you can miss their wake and they'll disappear, or you can get interdicted right when you are trying to follow them. If they've gone away, try jumping in and out of supercruise, or going to a station and leaving again to reset the encounter. It's a relatively small meeting time window and if you miss it, you're boned. Alternately, you might consider just avoiding these missions altogether, which is what I now do after failing several of them after wasting a bunch of time.

I have completed these missions before, but this is probably one of those missions that is being improved in the 1.6/2.1 update.

I never took the cargo one, but I bet it must be similar to the hold data variant I guess.. in the mission brief (before you accept) there's a time range, lets call it Time A. After you accept it, and get interdicted like few times .. you will eventually be at Time A, but the mission still not updated ..

I did this variant a lot the mission update time is around 30 minutes to 1+ hours after Time A.. let's call it time B ... if you wait this long and the mission finally update, you will have like 20 minutes to go to the target system and meet the agent... lets call the time range to meet the agent as Time C..

now within Time C, you should be in the target system waiting in supercruise.. the agent will contact you and drops.. you just simply follow the wake and drop... after that, just some monolog and done..



The most annoying part is actually waiting for the mission update..
