Sag A with 100% Hull

This is my challenge. Its been made harder by me taking an eliptical route. 13,500Ly out, 13,000Ly to Sag A, I will continue the route I had planned. Has anybody else made it to Sag A with 100% Hull?

It is possible, but you cant make any mistake.

At now i am about 2/3 journey to sag a*, and i have 95% hull. I dropped to star 5 times.

Lol, I am retentive enough not to make a mistake, its come at an ideal time as I am on the wagon (Doctors orders), my errors have always been alcohol fuelled....

So I was 10,000 ly away from Sol, 100% hull...Will hit Sag A* eventually in the next weeks...all cool and dandy...until I stupidly tried not to overshoot a planet I was scanning....

Turns out there are some very faint rings, you don't see until too close...

99% Hull now. Grrrrrrr.

I know I can make it there and back to civilization with no further damage...but still 99% is not 100%...fml

Pffft, merely 3000ly out I already got too close to a brown dwarf. I'm going to need that repair kit before I ever get there.

I arrived there at 100% hull / systems. Not too hard, you just have to pay attention and zero the throttle after every jump.

The way back was a different story, I got so bored of the endless jumping that I started to watch movies in parallel. This got me speeding into neutron stars quite a few times, and I almost ran out of fuel twice.

Hmm, what about a danger run: Sol - Sagittarius A* with 1% hull. Now THAT would be an achievement for the ages... and careful, the big one in the middle is a bit more voluminous than one might think...

Haggis McMoose,
dabbling in dumb dangers

I made it with 99% hull too, I only made the one mistake... I expect, unless something goes drastically wrong, to repeat the journey back not making another. But I don't think it's because I'm an especially good explorer, I just didn't randomly roll any nasty systems. The worst I've had has been appearing between two stars earlier today;

But zero throttle and just making sure I turned around 180 and moving out before leaping to the next system kept me safe. Sadly though now the core refuses to plot even a 2 jump course, where as my final run at Sagittarius plotted 600ly instantly... I have plenty of time then to up yet!

I thought I was going to do it, but I wound up flubbing a jump into an asteroid belt and took 2%. If you can do it, my hat (and shoes) will be off to you, as supreme CMDR of safe flying!

And, if you can, then I'll say "now make it back." ;)

No, I always end up doing something stupid on the way, and usually spill my tea at the same time.

Note to self, don't drink and fly.

I suppose if you don't muck about and plan every jump carefully and stay focussed, it is possible.

Not for me, since I'm not carefull, cannot stay focussed and love to muck about :)

Yeah, I start getting curious and playing with fire. Though I'm 35k Ly form Sol now, and still at 90% I've spent too long trying to see how close I can to the wrong sorts of objects. In the name of art, you understand...

Z...

Things that have got my ship into trouble:

England v Scotland six nations rugby
Reading v Bradford FA Cup replay
Atletico Madrid v Real Madrid Champions League first leg

Alcohol.

I made it there and back again without any hull damage in my Asp.

My only problem was my sisters kittens. Adorable but can be deadly when on your keyboard.

I had a White Dwarf take a nibble out of me last night, it was right next to a farty little red star as I jumped in, so no more 100% for me. I'm just over 14K Ly out from Sol. Hey ho, I did jinx myself then.
