Saitek Pro Flight yoke help

Hi guys,

Sorry to bother I just bought Elite Dangerous and want to get to grips with is as fast as I can.

My issue being that my setup consists of both;

Saitek Pro Flight Yoke
Saitek Pro Flight rudder pedals

If anyone has any ideas on how I could bind my control to what if possible that would be awesome as im stuck scratching my head for now trying to find where to assign my throttle, lateral thrust etc..

Thank you

Hi,

I have both of those but I don't use the Yoke for ED, would feel a bit weird using a yoke to control the ship.

Pedals I use for yaw, left toe brake is for reverse thrust (not throttle) in landing override, right pedal for forward thrust in landing override.

If I was to use the yoke instead of my X52.

Pitch & roll would be setup like an aircraft, pull back to pitch up, push forward to pitch down, roll left/right. All those buttons on the yoke could be set to whatever you feel is comfortable for you.. I would recommend using the pitch trim rocker switches for thrust up/down, and obviously have the primary and secondary fire at your fingertips.

Throttle - just use one of the separate levers, all the buttons on the throttle can be assigned to the lights,targeting,assist off etc. Lot's of combinations, experiment and see what works.

Honestly, I think combat with a yoke would suck

How did you get on with the Yoke? I'd imagine it would be great for Hauling - great way to chill out on your way through space.

I have used a Yoke for flight combat before, back in IL-2, and it worked, but you didn't get the 'snappy' changes of direction that a stick gives you and it does need the pedals or you have no Yaw.

I'm considering an ED install on my FSX rig upstairs just to see what a Yoke does in it. :D
