Saitek X52 Question

Just got my xmas pressy today, how do I get the LCD display to work with Elite Dangerous? I know its something to do with profiles, but I cant find the files anywhere (running windows 10)

On another note, how do you like it? I've been wanting to get one but keep hearing awful things about Saitek products.

Its a million times better than my logitech extreme 3d pro.

I can stay on the 6 of even the small ships in my ferdy, not something I could do with my old stick.

All the buttons are in easy to reach places and I only use the keyboard now for menu navigation.

I hope FD really pushes for the LCD support, it would be cool if it shown stuff like shield percentage or something like that. Bounty on wanted targets for another idea.

I know the display works with FSX and maybe DCS but I've actually never bothered with it.

It looks good though. Surprised someone hasn't made a util to program it/link it with games?

I've used Saitek HOTAS since the days of Jane's flight sims.

I was the same but bought my x52 from Amazon and thought if it was a bust I could return it easy. Mine has worked great from day one. That was 8 months ago. The only thing extra I did was apply some lithium grease to the bottom disk/plate/thingy on the flight stick so it moved smoothly.

Thats an X52, not an X52 pro. There is no customization available for the screen on the vanilla X52. It displays the profile name, the current stick mode and a clock. That's all.

I never once said it was the pro version. I asked a simple question and I have my answers.

Congrats on your Christmas prezzy! :)

I've heard some stories about how the X52 throttle kinda gives out after a short while, so don't throw away your Logitech stick. I'm using the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro with the X52 throttle. Works great. I was able to find 2 working spare throttles, but X52 sticks don't seem to be available for backup.

I had to calibrate my Logitech before it worked well with ED. Before calibration, it always tended to roll and yaw left.

<edit> I pulled the detents out of the X52 throttle. makes it a lot friendlier to use. </edit>

Good luck with it. If it starts acting up, get it returned straight away. I've spent a year going through the motions with Saitek tech support and the juice is NOT worth the squeeze.
