Sale on steam always premise a new DLC

Have you noticed that huge sale on Planet zoo on steam always premise a new DLC?
I am looking closely and from SA DLC it’s starting to look like some kind of a pattern.
The sale ends on 23 of Feb so I hope we would see new DLC around 4th of March.

I'm not sure about that. Sales happen in periods when otherwise people wouldn't buy much. Therefore, it makes sense that DLC are released after sales, because that means it is a period where people tend to buy more, like before major holidays.

March 4th is too early, we don't even have any hint on SteamDB. Then next DLC should be the spring DLC, but spring doesn't start till March 20th. I believe March 30th is the most likely date and also we might still get update 1.4.4 at the end of February.

I never really caught onto this theory but it makes total sense. March 8th would be 3 months since the Aquatic Pack so I'm going for the 16th (as a long shot) but more likely the 23rd or 30th. We should hear of the update or something along those lines around the first week of March, so a good two more weeks before any DLC/update excitement.

DLC comes out on average every 17 weeks (just over 4 months on average). And so far always on a Tuesday. So probably April 6, 2021 (give or take a week or two), South America dlc was Apr 7th 2020...so never know!

I wouldn't hold my breath for march, as I think we would have an unknowen app in the steam database then by now. We don't. And aren't the sales managed by Steam and not by Frontier? I believe the current sale is steam driven, but I have no insight to the price policy, so I'm just guessing.
An unknowen app would be the bigger indicator for me and from there it's usually at least two weeks until an announcement.

Last year they also said that COVID was the cause of the DLC delay. So maybe this year they would be able to release them on time. March would be a game changer for me 🤩

Also last year Easter holidays were a bit later. If I was going to release a game, I wouldn't want to miss the holidays now that people can't travel and have to stay at home.

Sales are managed in consultation with both parties, Steam and Frontier.

Well... as much as I hate to say it: Covid isn't over... Not worldwide and definately not in England.

And where did they say it was the cause of a DLC delay? I know it was always speculated, but the only official info we got was, that they do not expect delays. It were forum users who brought up the pandemic as an excuse for everything (and sometimes, like with the non-anniversary, it was kind of laughable to be honest), but I never saw Fronter taking that statement.

I'm not saying march isn't possible. I'm just saying it could very well be end of April as well. Or even later. They have a new JWE project in the making. Who knows how many staff members have been switched over to there, to meet deadlines. It wouldn't be the first time that PZ is not prioritiesed. I agree that it would be wise to have something around easter to sell. But it would also not be the first time for Frontier to miss out on an oppurtunity to get their game pushed.

I agree with Swjos, it was mostly forum users/players who made that assumption.

But...... New content for Elite was postponed to May 2021 and Lemnis Gate has been pushed to 2022.
So not entirely strange to assume something similar for other titles.

A very recent post from Dailymail (don't think there's a paparazzi/gossip factor involved with this news)
"In a trading update posted to the London Stock Exchange yesterday, the Cambridge-based firm said there was 'no question' remote working was affecting productivity."

Maybe so. Maybe no. It’s only assumptions we’re making here. Right? 😁
Hope sth will surface in March if not. Tough luck. We’ll have to wait till it’s released anyway. It’s fun to make assumptions. It’s not personal 😁

I hope we'll get at least something for a 2 or 3 Year Anniversary

Sounds interesting. I thought the Game is finished. Any Information or Theorys what it could be?
I hope it will include a fix to make the Rangers less stupid 😑
I dount we will get anything for the second anniversary.

They said they can share news on the JWE project later this year. It can be anything, really, but I'm pretty sure it's a sequel and not a DLC. I don't think they would abondon the game for a year or so and than add another DLC (though I'd like it).

The premiere of Jurassic World 3: Dominion is planned for June 2022. Maybe new project from frontier has sth to do with that.
I wish they could improve JWE in a way we don’t even suspect it.

@Urufu1997 Yeah I have to agree with @Swjosdotschka I think the anniversary celebration was a one and done type thing in terms of a true celebration and maybe a gift or two. I’d love to be wrong but unfortunately I’m not recommending anyone count on it. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t still disappointed in the true non anniversary celebration this game and it’s players deserved. I do to this day feel planet zoo has unfairly tooken a back seat to frontiers other titles for whatever reason which is very very unfortunate but it is what it is. I just hope the game receives long term support and finds away to connect with the needs and requests of most players.

So much this. And the aquatic pack wasn't enough for me to accept the non-anniversary. Diving is great and such, but what is less great is, treating PZ players not equal to PC players and JWE players. And that we got less content for the same price with the aquatic pack as well. And while I never said nor thought that the DLCs are overpriced, less content for same money, not celebrating a big anniversary and being deaf and blind to player feedback lately is an EA road, and I still hope Frontier can and will turn around. As of today though, it doesn't seem like it.
