Salome thread roll-up

For the love of Mike; can a mod PLEASE roll all these [Salome / the Event of the 29th / SDC / Hairy Plotter / this is why open won't work / FD need to sort instancing / etc] threads into one thread so its easier to ignore for those of us that a) aren't greatly surprised by the turn of events and b) are less interested?

If Mods won't merge then could they please lock this thread so it doesn't become yet another wailing wall.
