So one of the arguments I was reading about why cargo you scoop up in space is always going to show as "stolen" is that a player (NPC or player) may have dropped the cargo, and will come back and retrieve it later.
I'll bite.
If I drop cargo somewhere, for whatever reason, is there a way to tag (mark, note, whatever) that precise location in space so you can find it again? Even if it is by using a marker buoy? (Hopefully something encoded, so every criminal in the universe doesn't come running)
If there is not, then the premise that cargo floating in space "belongs" to someone else that "will retrieve it later" is invalid.
Or for that matter, if I decide to get into mining and find a particularly rich source of whatever can I mark that location so I can fly right back to it when I return from selling my cargo?
If the only answer is "scrap of paper, write down the system name" that would be ludicrous, considering the size of star systems. There has to be some way to navigate to points within a system that are not space stations, stars and planets.
Thanks...
