Salvage Career

Anyone know a good system for Salvage game-play and missions? Somewhere that has lot's of salvage missions? Maybe also higher than normal amount of USS with salvage opportunities (I.E. NOT just materials) and Surface POI as a bonus?

This is a mechanic in the game that is not often discussed or explored, but frankly is tons of fun.

Salvage needs more missions and make it a real career.

Not sure about Salvage missions but try CD-72 190, Phillips Terminal. This is the ultimate destination for salvage and a source of some illegal goods (narcotics, combat stabilisers, ...). If it is salvage, they want it. Unknown artefacts, unknown probes, AI relics, ancient artefacts, trade data, Hafnium 178, you name it, they want it. The station is controlled by Emperors Fist. a theocracy. The only illegal things here are slaves and imperial slaves. Oh and its a Hi-Tech station to boot.

I think that Salvage Missions might be fixed by adjusting the value of cargo. Once a player has a 'Conda, grabbing even 4 units of platinum doesn't mean much. 80,000 Cr? Not worth the time in an SRV.

Making it so that Missions incredulously inflate cargo value isn't a perfect fix.

Thanks CaptainAceR, I'll take a trip and check that out. I had heard rumors that the Kremainn system and SOL are decent for this kind of game-play also... Even if it doesn't bring in a ton of credits, I'm not worried. I already have an Anaconda and a fleet of purpose built ships, Just looking to expand on another activity

Looking at EDDB, HIP 75446 might be worth checking out when I have a chance also, as the controlling faction is a salvage company (Crimson Mining and Salvage Corporation). May have some missions (I'm at work for next couple days) Has anyone been there and can confirm?
