Make sure to look for "Private Couriers" in supercruise ;)

Also, you'll find that things like occupied escape pods bring in upwards of 23k a pop now.

Was just about to ask about this, have you seen any other high value supercruise piracy targets?

Yeah, I prated the hell out of them in beta. Cargo holds full of commodities that sell for upwards of 100k at Boom Black Markets. :D

Everything from Keelbacks to Corvettes.... the keelies are obviously the on the easier side of the target spectrum. :p

Also, smuggled goods (not stolen) get a big value boost at Black Markets (where they are illegal).

This is great news for pirate players.

Salvagers and smugglers, too.

In beta I kitted up a T-9 with collectors, and just went around salvaging. Was never so excited to drop into degraded USSs. With salvage commodities like Escape pods going for 25k, it actually makes it an enjoyable profession.

This sounds great. Always liked the idea of salvage work as a career / side Hussle gig. Good to know it's profitable. Might be able to afford the Chieftain soon.

Woah.... that is awesome!
However, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the new C&P system: if you interdict a clean vessel now, do you get a fine or a bounty? Can these targets also be found in anarchy systems? And I assume you won't get a bounty when they go 'pop' in an anarchy system?

Interdictiion is still a fine (unless you have an active bounty, then the fine just gets rolled into the bounty).

I don't recall if I saw any in Anarchy space, but I imagine that they are there.

You can do whatever you want in Anarchy with 0 repercussions. Murder there doesn't even increment your norotiety.

Cheers!

Well I'll be d'ned!

I don't know, but this feels like a huge step in the direction of a system that actually makes sense. Not to mention black markets actually seem to value your illegal goods now.

For the record, I don't do pirating. I tried PVE pirating to get me some diamonds but that's about it. And I haven't really done PvP since the whole Salome storyline, but it's nice to know that piracy might be a viable path for players now. I remember way back when. I was still in my Cobra running rares, and got pirated by a Clipper. (I even think it was Kuroshio, but I might not have remembered correctly) and it was a thrilling experience. I tried to fight the interdiction, but then I lost, some tense negotiations followed and I flew away a couple of rares lighter, but an exhilarating experience richer. I'd like that to come back. Make it worthwhile to be a pirate, but also make it worthwhile to be a trader. It's a tough balancing game, but now at least I have a bit of hope they'll get it right.

See, this is precisely why I feel that-if caught-smuggling needs to be a Bounty Crime, not merely a fine. If payouts are so good, then fines are inconsequential. Risking a Bounty will make me far more inclined to rely on Silent Running when I approach the Mail slot.
