These suggestions are about being able to find dead ships and extracting expensive modules from them. This would either include being able to tow a ship somewhere or cracking it open to extract the module and also being able to carry the module or parts of it in your cargo hold or something like it.
Salvage as a word to indicate completely legal and maybe mission-oriented. You earn less money but it's legal.
Scavenge would be the illegal variety. Extracting the modules and earning 100% of it's value on the market. I think we all know how expensive some of these modules can be and these operations would be on par with some of the other lucrative activities to earn big credits in a short amount of time.
This would warrant the creation of a salvage laser and maybe some other items similar to the new mining modules. Cracking open things, extracting parts, even if they are damaged or partially destroyed it's all potentially big money in some of these bigger ships. And course, illegal actions aside and the dangers there, there could always be the chance for live munitions, active power plants, etc that could explode at any time!
