Salvation Weapons for Human Combat - Yea or Nay?

There are those interesting looking pre-engineered Gauss Cannons and Plasma Chargers from Salvation. Raw damage and shot speed especially of the Plasma Chargers look great. Is there any point in using them in regular combat against human NPCs? I'd like a change of pace and simply trying something new, but only if it's at least a bit worth the grind. What do you guys think? Thank you!

The Plasma Charger is the main one. The modified gauss isn't any better than standard gauss, which is basically a slightly worse unengineered railgun.

The modified shards have some potential, as well. Thermal damage at significant range and with basically hitscan projectile velocity is good juju. Less max DPS, but easier to hit all the shards on target, so it balances out some, at least for C2 slots.

I can speak from personal experience that the Modified Guardian Plasma Chargers, when coupled with a Corrosive Multicannon and optionally a Feedback Cascade Railgun, are certainly effective vs human NPCs. They have much higher Power and Distributor Draws than their human counterparts, so you won't be able to equip or effectively use more than one or two MGPCs on most ships; a 7A G5 Charged Enhanced / Super Conduits Distro is just strong enough to support 3 continuously firing on my Cutter. Your ship build will have to revolve around the MGPCs, essentially.

Here's a somewhat dated but relevant video of me using them in a High CZ, illustrating my point regarding their Power and Distro Draws:

If you do decide to get these, I highly recommend setting your Gun Sight Mode (Right Hand Panel -> Pilot Preferences) to Trailing. That 6000 m/s shot speed helps keep your reticule inside your FoV and Trailing mode tells you exactly where your shot will land on the target.

Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
They are totally worth the grind.
I currently have like... 20 of them in storage cause I am a bit obsessive about them.
Also have a kraitmk2 with 3 salvation shards and 2 heat vent beams, it isn't very good at long range but kicks hard at shorter ranges and the heat beams do their best to reduce the heat.
Also have another kraitmk2 with 4 salvation plasma chargers and 1 heat vent beam. It hits like a truck and the increased shot speed means your hitting like a speeding truck.

The salvation gauss is kinda mea... but still fun to get as its an interesting weapon.

Also don't forget to praise salvation after each kill.
Praise salvation!
For as is his name... so shall he bring... in the form of guns...

How to unlock those? Sounds fun!

After 1500h of finding "the special" , I've truly did not encounter a lot of other stuff beside you know, piracy, smuggling, BGS and a bit of shenanigans here and there.

I'm thankful for every piece of content. Will be #8 in my toDo list.

Thanks again Graphite

So basicly engineering bad part (Mats collecting) mixed with guardian puzzles who again dissolve my mind. Help!

TIL, I didn't know that.

I have enough for 4 of them, due to a past mistake on my part^^
The guardian blueprints are easy to get. Lots of walkthrus on YouTube. Deffo worth going for.
Easy yes. Boring, grindy and fairly lengthy ? Yes, that to :)

I mean, it was very cool the first few times, but it got really boring real quick.

Put 4 Mod Guardian Plasma Chargers class II in a FdL - in Huge, a MC : It's one shot kill most of the small, 2 for medium, and usually half dozen/a dozen hits for a big pirate Annie / Vete. Works like a dream in FdL, much better than rails !
I have 4 of them, now I bought 8 more :p

I took out a couple of low level Wanted NPCs at a Compromised Nav Beacon using Mod Shards for shields and EAX MCs for hull ... was only a couple of Adders and maybe an Eagle but they went down surprisingly quickly!

Was rather expecting the MCs to do naff all …

Two medium modified plasma chargers are the only weapons on my ship now (Cobra). I wanted to make my ship equally viable against Thargoid scouts as against human NPCs, and these weapons fit the bill. Highly recommended. You really should have a grade 5 engineered power distributor though (charge enhanced or weapon focused - mine’s charge enhanced with super conduits).

EAX MC are only 70% anti xeno damage... they use 30% damage in a kinetic round to get to targets to carry the Anti xeno damage to thargoids....
